Abstract:This paper deals with the problem of absolute stability and robust stability of a class of neutral systems with sector-bounded nonlinearity and mixed time-varying delays. Some new delay-dependent stability criteria are presented based on Lyapunov stability theory and formulated in terms of strict linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Neither model transformation nor bounding technique for cross terms is required in obtaining the stability conditions. Since both the neutral- and discrete-delays are taken into account, the obtained criterion is less conservative than the previous ones, which is illustrated by numerical examples.

Abstract:Based on the Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional method and the free weighting matrix method,a delay-range-dependent stability condition is proposed for a class of linear neutral systems with interval time-varying delays.When the derivative of the delay is known,a range-dependent and rate-dependent stability condition is obtained;when the derivative of the delay is unknown,a range-dependent and rate-independent stability condition is obtained.The proposed stability condition is further extended to the neutral systems with norm-bounded uncertainties and a robust delay-range-dependent stability condition is established.As all the conditions are derived in terms of LMIs,it is very convenient to solve them by using the LMI toolbox.Finally,numerical examples are given to show the effectiveness of the proposed conditions.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider a class of neutral stochastic differential systems with variable delays and give sufficient conditions to ensure that the zero solution is asymptotically stable in the mean square by means of a generalisation of Banach's contraction principle. These conditions do not require the boundedness of delays, nor do they ask for a fixed sign on the coefficient functions. The results are shown to improve the previous globally stable results derived in the literature.

Abstract:This article mainly considers the linear neutral delay-differential systems with a single delay. Abstract:This paper investigates the analytical stability region and the asymptotic stability of linear fractional neutral delay differential equations. Employing boundary locus techniques, the stability region of this problem is analyzed. Furthermore, we derive the fundamental solution of linear fractional neutral delay differential equations, and prove the exponential boundedness, the asymptotic stability and the algebraic decay rate. Finally, numerical tests are conducted to verify the theoretical results.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider the impulsive effects on the stability of the zero solution of the linear neutral differential equations with variable delays. By transforming the equations into ones without impulses and using fixed point theory, some sufficient conditions for asymptotic stability and exponential stability of the zero solution are obtained. The paper extends and improves results on sufficient conditions obtained by Jin and Luo (2008) [17], and Ardjouni and Djoudi (2011) [18], which is shown clearly in Example 1. This paper also shows that the impulse intensity and the impulse time both influence the decay rate of the convergence to zero of the solutions. Finally, two examples are given to show applications of some results obtained.

Then using these functionals, some new delay-dependent stability criteria are derived for the neutral systems. Abstract:In this paper, a class of nonlinear stochastic neutral differential equations with delays is investigated. By using the properties of $${\mathcal{M}}$$ -matrix, a differential-difference inequality is established. Basing on the differential-difference inequality, we develop a $${\mathcal{L}}$$ -operator-difference inequality such that it is effective for stochastic neutral differential equations. By using the $${\mathcal{L}}$$ -operator-difference inequality, we obtain the global attracting and invariant sets of nonlinear stochastic neutral differential equations with delays. In addition, we derive the sufficient condition ensuring the exponential p-stability of the zero solution of nonlinear stochastic neutral differential equations with delays. One example is presented to illustrate the effectiveness of our conclusion.

Abstract:This note is concerned with the stability analysis problem of stochastic neutral-type time-delay systems with multiple delays. A less restrictive constraint is imposed to ensure that the difference operator (which appears on the left hand side of the stochastic neutral-type time-delay systems) possesses the property that "exponentially converging input implies exponentially converging state". Such a constraint is necessary and sufficient for the strong stability of the difference equation associated with the system in the deterministic setting, and thus cannot be further relaxed. Abstract:The problems of determining the global asymptotic stability and global exponential stability for a class of norm-bounded nonlinear neutral differential systems with constant or time-varying delays are investigated in this work. Lyapunov method was used to derive some useful criteria of the systems’ global asymptotic stability and global exponential stability. The stability conditions are formulated as linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) which can be easily solved by various convex optimization algorithms. Moreover, for the exponentially stable system, the exponential convergence rates of the system’s states can be estimated by some parameters of the LMIs. Numerical examples are given to illustrate the application of the proposed method.

Abstract:This paper is concerned with the issue of stabilization for the linear neutral systems with mixed delays. The attention is focused on the design of output feedback controllers which guarantee the asymptotical stability of the closed-loop systems. Based on the model transformation of neutral type, the Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional method is employed to establish the delay-dependent stability criterion. Then, through the controller parameterization and some matrix transformation techniques, the desired parameters are determined under the delay-dependent design condition in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs), and the desired controller is explicitly formulated. A numerical example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

The method in this paper is less conservative than the existing ones and the results are very close to the analytical results.
