Abstract:Family visitors are important audiences for museums. This paper develops a model that examines the influence of Chinese family visitors' leisure experiences in museums on their behavioural intentions (BI) with their perceived benefits (mindful benefits and non-mindful benefits, MB and NMB) as the mediating variables. Based on the theoretical framework of an interactive experience model, parents' experiences in museums were divided into experience of existential authenticity (interaction with the exhibits) (EA) and experience of parents-children interaction (PCI). A total of 375 local family visitors at a cluster of craft museums in Hangzhou, China participated in the survey. The PLS-SEM analysis indicates that both EA and PCI have positive effects on perceived benefits. EA, which emphasises the personal interactions between visitors and exhibited objects as well as their intangible meanings, is found to be more powerful than PCI in shaping visitors' BI. MB and NMB differ in their influence on visitors' behaviours. Only MB is linked with visitors' BI. Further, MB partially mediates the relationship between EA and BI, and fully mediates the relationship between PCI and BI. Implications are offered to enhance family visitors' experiences through appropriate service management strategies.

Abstract:The family, as a leisure unit, is an important museum consumer group. The literature on family leisure in museums concentrates on the cognitive and the learning aspects in science museums and art galleries in western contexts. It provides limited explanation of the leisure outcomes acquired from visiting museums. This work addresses this lacuna by exploring the benefits perceived by Chinese parents who take their children to a cluster of museums along China's Grand Canal, a world heritage site in Hangzhou. A review of museum and heritage research, combined with 17 on-site, in-depth interviews, generated information on a range of benefits which was used to design a questionnaire that was completed by 450 respondents. Five perceived benefits were identified using factor analysis. In order of significance, they are family bonding, community attachment, cultural awareness, restoration and personal growth. These perceived benefits have implications for museums and other public facilities catering to the family leisure market, as well as for governments, community organisations, the heritage sector and other stakeholders that are charged with managing cultural heritage.

Abstract:Museums have been widely considered as informal educational sites. Studies about families in museums heavily concentrate on the cognitive aspects and the learning outcomes in science museums and art galleries. Compared with previous research, this study emphasizes four distinctive themes: a focus on the pre-trip stage of the museum visit, museums depicting local heritage, a Chinese context, and attention to social and cultural issues. In detail, this study explores the motivations of Chinese parents who take their children to a cluster of heritage museums at the southern end of China's Grand Canal, a newly designated world heritage site in Hangzhou. Semi-structured interviews were undertaken with parents visiting the museums with their children. It was found that the key push factors include education and learning, relaxation, creating positive experience for children, relationship enhancement (quality time with children) and extended family obligations. Free admission, the innovative displays, the opportunities for personal interaction and the quality of the environment both within and surrounding the museums were important pull factors. The family market, particularly the extended family, may be particularly important in China given their importance in Chinese culture based on Confucian teaching.

Abstract:The Modern Museum is a complex educational and cultural center that collects, investigates, researches, and discloses important materials and items in various fields such as art, history, food, and electronic devices, and emphasizes education, research, and exhibitions. Accordingly, this study focuses on the Korean Tea Museum and the Chinese Tea Leaf Museum, studies their development plans, and seeks ways to promote friendship between the two countries through tea in the future. The revitalization plan for the Korea-China Museum is as follows. First, communication between museums and visitors must be strengthened by introducing digital technology. Second, visitors’ intention to revisit must be increased through differentiation strategies. Third, the tea museum's service types should be expanded and used as a festival space to revitalize the local economy. Fourth, the brand value of tea culture must be increased overseas. Fifth, tea culture must be promoted through a globalization strategy. In other words, considering the cultural specificity and role of tea, the value of the tea museum must be realized through tea and tea culture in a global universality.

Abstract:China has made great achievements in education since the start of its reform and opening up policy. The exploration of China's education reform has never stopped while facing the challenges of educational development in the new era. When it comes to education, the report of the 19th CPC National Congress proposed to “implement the fundamental task of Moral educationˮ and “make more contributions to nurturing socialist builders and successors with all-round development in morality, intelligence, physique, aesthetic and hard-working spirit. In the past few years, moral education was placed on the same important position as professional education and actively carried out in all levels of educational institutions such as primary and high schools, colleges and universities. Taking the general course “Introduction to Chinese Tea Cultureˮ offered by Chinese university as an example, this paper tries to discuss the teaching practice and reflection of “moral educationˮ in liberal studies. Focusing on the teaching implementation process of “Introduction to Chinese Tea Cultureˮ, the paper analyzes the development and the potential value of moral education, and the value of traditional Chinese culture to guiding the moral education in Chinese universities from the perspective of “cultural confidenceˮ. This paper analyzes the development of moral education teaching and the exploration of moral education potential in the implementation process of “Introduction to Chinese tea cultureˮ, aiming to analyze the value of Chinese excellent traditional culture in guiding moral education in Chinese Colleges and universities from the perspective of “cultural confidenceˮ. As a general course of liberal studies opened in Chinese universities in recent years, “Introduction to Chinese Tea Culture” contains great potential for moral education, which benefits from the rich cultural connotation, philosophical thought and humanistic spirit in Chinese traditional tea culture itself. It is necessary to dig deep into the spiritual connotation of Chinese tea culture to maximize the moral education role of this course.

Abstract:The Hoann Museum of Tea Ware is a culture and art complex of tea culture that has provided appreciation of works related with tea and education programs including traditional etiquette, tea ceremony(茶禮) and practice of tea manufacture since its opening on December 15th of 2007 by remodeling the closed school. The Hoann Museum of Tea Ware is optimally qualified for a open culture and art complex to learn culture and art and traditional etiquette. Especially, it creates an environment for appreciation and research of antiques and discussing a history and culture of tea for students studying a tea master and tea and people interested in pottery. This study researched and analyzed the programs including experience of Deokeum Flower Tea, tea ceremony and tea confectionery from ‘Humanities on the Road’ program in the Hoann Museum of Tea Ware, and suggested the plan to design experience programs of five senses in preparation for the post-COVID 19 era. It specifically diversifies participants and consolidates online education, securing experience and public concern.

Abstract:Since the 21st century, China has put forward the “going out strategy of Chinese culture” which aims at realizing the awakening, reviving, integrating and spreading of Chinese culture. China emphasizes strengthening and improving the spreading of Chinese culture in order to enhance the soft power of national culture. China needs to cultivate intercultural communicative talents that can display Chinese culture to the world through an appropriate path with profound intercultural communication awareness and excellent intercultural communicative competence. Being representative of Chinese traditional culture, tea culture carries a long history of China. Abstract:The tea culture now plays a prominent role in the traditional Chinese culture. Tea ware, the ‘carrier’ of tea culture, is crucial to the global spread of the Chinese tea culture if properly translated. The Eco-Translatology provides translators with a fresh perspective when translating tea wares, allowing them to create a more desirable translation when doing adaptive selection and transformation in terms of tea sets concerning the linguistic, cultural, and communicative dimensions. The paper studies the English translation of tea wares at the China National Tea Museum from the perspective of Eco-Translatology, with the objective of providing several insights into the English translation of tea wares so as to facilitate the international dissemination of the Chinese tea culture.

Cultural communication in museums: A perspective of the visitors experience

Abstract:As museums shift their responsibilities and functions towards audience-centered approaches, research on exploring museum cultural communication strategies through visitor experiences has gained increasing attention from both academia and industry. This study focuses on the newly opened Nan Song Deshou Palace Relics Site Museum in Hangzhou, China, completed at the end of 2022, and its visitors. Data were collected through on-site surveys and in-depth interviews. The research findings indicate that the current motivations of museum visitors manifest primarily in three forms: knowledge exploration, social interaction, and psychological restoration. After evaluating the existing museum service quality based on the field of experiential value in marketing management, two main issues and features were identified. The issues include sub-optimal visitor pathways and layout, dissatisfaction with staff services, and shortcomings in promotion and communication. The overall cultural learning and interactive experience for the entire visitor base also require improvement. The features are characterized by differentiated cultural and creative consumption in the museum and the emergence of interrelated consumer demands. Based on these findings, the study provides targeted recommendations for future museum construction and communication strategies.

Abstract:Chinese tea culture is believed to have originated during the Shennong era, with a history of at least 4700 years. Despite its rich cultural heritage, tea is mainly enjoyed by the middle-aged and elderly. To expand its market and pass on tea culture to younger generations, this study focuses on developing cultural characters based on the intangible cultural heritage of “Tea Baixi”.The study began with a review of relevant materials and literature on “Tea Baixi”. It then analyzed the character traits favored by Generation Z, using five award-winning cultural characters from China’s annual IP selection. These insights were used to create character sketches, which were evaluated through surveys based on originality, approachability, diversity, consistency, and interest inducement, leading to feasible character designs.This research creatively reinterprets “Tea Baixi”, linking traditional culture with modern lifestyles through innovative character design. It aims to offer new perspectives for cultural transmission and explore the application of character design in cultural heritage preservation and innovation.
