Beneficial Effect of Α-Galactosidase Enzyme on Performance of Broiler Chickens Fed Diets Containing Soybean Meal and Cottonseed Meal

Abstract:Two experiments were conducted to evaluate the potential use of α-galactosidase enzyme in soybean meal and soybean meal with 5%～8% inclusion of cottonseed meal.In EXP.1,a six-week feeding trial was done with 672 one-day old male broiler chicks(AA) and randomly allocated to four dietary treatments consisting of twelve replicates of 14 chicks each.The growth performance of birds fed soybean meal and cottonseed meal diets with supplemental enzymes was higher than that of the control by 4.35% and 3.49%,respectively at the age of 42 d.In EXP.2,true amino acid digestibility was not improved by enzyme supplementation except tryptophan(P0.001).The average improvement of TME of soybean meal following the enzyme supplementation was 4.69%(121.1 kcal/kg) higher than that of the control.It can be concluded that the addition of α-galactosidase enzyme to the corn-soybean meal diet had beneficial effects on the growth performance of broiler chickens.
