Abstract:Objective To assess the health status of radiation workers exposed to long-term low-dose radiation.Methods The health status of 1 264 radiation workers who were followed up for 6 years were retrospectively analyzed.Results The count of leukocyte,hemoglobin and platelets were within the scope of reference values from 2003 to 2008.The differences of leukocyte and hemoglobin counts of radiation workers were significant compared 2003 to other years except 2005.There were significant differences of platelet count of radiation workers between 2003 and other years.The hemoglobin level had statistical difference between radiation workers working in medical institutions and those in nonmedical institution(P 0.05).The rate of fatty liver or liver fatty infiltration increased with years,the differences were significant.Conclusion Long-term low-dose radiation exposure may cause health problem for radiation workers.
