Abstract:This article reviews major national policies and strategies adopted by the Chinese central government to promote entrepreneurship education and also describes the current social and economic background to reveal the motives of entrepreneurship education in mainland China. The core of this article sums up the content of national policies on entrepreneurship education and analyses the initial successes and problems in implementing these policies. Some suggestions for entrepreneurship education in mainland China are proposed in this article.

Abstract:Entrepreneurship education has a close bearing on social and economic progress. In recent years, there is a strong wave of technological revolution induced by mobile Internet, later government giving rise to related policies that encourage innovation and entrepreneurship. However, Chinese universities are still remaining in a stage of exploring and developing time that entrepreneurship education nurtures social and economic development, which we call Entrepreneurship education 1.0 phase. This study proposes the concept of Entrepreneurship Education 2.0. Based on the large-scale survey of innovation and entrepreneurship at Stanford University (2012), it analyses the experience and inspiration of Stanford leading global pioneer in Entrepreneurship Education 2.0 phase from three aspects including sources, institutional guarantee and social and economic influence of entrepreneurship education for the purpose of strategically improving the recognition of entrepreneurship education’s contribution to society and economy and taking measures for Chinese universities to step into Entrepreneurship education 2.0.

Abstract:The entrepreneurship education in Chinese higher institutions has accumulated some experience after ten years of development.However,compared with the great demands of the social economic in China,the development of entrepreneurship education still lags far behind.University students have weak entrepreneurship intention and ability,and also lack entrepreneurship knowledge.Therefore,entrepreneurship education in Chinese higher education institutions should adopt the development idea featuring "concept guidance,classification construction and system guarantee",and establish tridimensional entrepreneurship educational outlook,pay special attention to the construction of teacher team and curriculum which are the two core links,as well as establish the supporting system to promote the optimum development of entrepreneurship education.

Abstract:The development model of entrepreneurship education (EE) in China is a typical representation of a government-driven model, and those policies unveiled by the central party and government authorities make big differences. Since 1998, central and local governments have introduced multiple policies promoting the development of entrepreneurship education in China. On the whole, EE policies in China have been increasing year by year, especially after Premier Li Keqiang put forward the slogan of “mass entrepreneurship and innovation” in September 2014 at the Summer Davos. EE policies in China have resulted in explosive growth and directly raised an entrepreneurship wave across the country.

Abstract:In this rapidly growing and competitive technological development world, business incubation is a very supportive and productive tool for promoting the entrepreneurial environment, job creation and economic development. The efficacy of incubators is a crucial aspect for boosting the speed of local, regional and national economies and SMEs development. This study argues to suggest that efficiency of business incubators is vital for actively contributing in economic development especially for developing countries, namely China. A document analysis and archives based survey was conducted to review and analyse the practices of business incubators, as well as their strengths and weaknesses. Finally, the findings of the study reveal some future directions of business incubators in China with policy recommendations.

Abstract:After 25 years' rapid growth,Chinese incubators have already attracted worldwide attention.But at the same time,they still need transform and upgrade.As a successful case,whether the experience of Research Institute of Tsinghua University in Shenzhen(RITS) can be the future of other incubators is worth to discuss.During our survey,we found that different incubatees in RITS have different resource,but exist studies believed all incubatees in the same incubator should have the same resource.Based on the Grounded Theory,our study found that the disequilibrium was made by an institutional design.After different resource deployed by different departments,the status,resource and sense of identity in incubatees presented a stratification system.The status changed in stratification based on the entry and exit of venture capital,but too much interventional management caused the status stabilization of"control enterprises",and it may also reduce their independence.

Abstract:Based on the survey from about 150 senior managers of incubated enterprises,it analyzes enterprises' service demands.The result shows that the most needed services are venture training,core values and competence nurturing,establishing public technology platform,and building industrial alliances,etc.These wanted services can be provided through the establishment of resources networks.Because the business incubator can provide such services by resource network,one of the directions for the incubators to provide service innovation is to establish resource network,and the incubators can use it to provide enterprises with incremental service and high value service which are more effective and valuable.
A Practical Example on Enhancing Employability and Entrepreneurship in Institutions of Higher Education in China

Abstract:Challenged by the severe graduation employment dilemma, the employability and entrepreneurship for student has become a core concern in Chinese higher education. This paper firstly shows the impact on the job market from the social economic development and higher educational structure transformation of the country. Then the problems in the talents cultivation system in Chinese institutions of higher education: gap between graduates supplies and social demands, lack of training in core competitiveness, and lack of systematic operation.are discussed. As a practical example, Ningbo Institute of Technology (NIT) Zhejiang University, China is shown as enhancing students’ employability and entrepreneurship effectively. With fully awareness of the bottlenecks impeding the enhancement of students’ employability and entrepreneurship, NIT has reformed the pattern of talents cultivation to meet local industrial requirements, and built a comprehensive and long-run guidance system for enhancing employability and entrepreneurship, so as to coordinate the graduates supply with social needs. Some suggestions for Chinese higher education institutions to enhance students’ employability and entrepreneurship are put forward in this paper.

Abstract:Based on previous research on the enterprise life cycle ,and take the seed ,birth ,grow th ,maturity four cycle sta‐ges as the incubation stage ,combined different life cycle determinants ,and in accordance with entrepreneurship objec‐tives ,financing need ,profitability ,grow th resource requirement ,business and management team distinguish the charac‐teristics of the various stages of the corporate life cycle .According to differences in the characteristics of the life cycle sta‐ges of entrepreneurship ,revealed the periodic boundary change characteristics of the business incubator .According to get required resource ,capacity -building ,risk aversion ,enhance the value that the four dimensions of the key elements of en‐trepreneurship incubation ,for enterprise different life cycle ,raise germination patterns ,hatch patterns ,acceleration pat‐terns and nuclear change patterns four types of cycle basis incubating mode .On this basis ,according to the changes of the entrepreneurship incubating boundaries in the different life cycle ,proposed three integration modes w hich are foundation elements integrated mode ,cycle functions integrated mode ,and network collaborated integrated mode .

Abstract:The effectiveness of services provided by a business incubator is the basis and premise for promoting the incubator itself and for incubating and developing new ventures inside. Services in different forms, contents and levels may influence the performance of incubated firms such as surviving rate and growth rate. We first classify incubator services into several types including infrastructure, educating, business assistance and networking services based on business practices and a careful literature review. Then some propositions were developed to link these services to the performance of incubated firms. Finally we construct a business model to illustrate the co-evolution process between incubator and incubatees, and how new services are generated and adopted in the process. We also consider the timing effect - the difference between incubating and nurturing phases. By employing a suitable operating model, an incubator is seen not only an enabler, but also an accelerator.

Abstract:In the context of transition economies,the discrepancy of ownership type and firm size will inevitably lead to the different development of enterprises,which provides a platform for the development of the entrepreneurship in China.Based on the resource and capability perspective,the paper explores the different develop models of entrepreneurship in China,and concludes that the large private enterprises are the most conducive,while the large state-owned enterprises are not to the development of entrepreneurship.Meanwhile,the effect of small businesses to the entrepreneurship's development is analyzed.Moreover,the contributions and limitations are discussed.

Abstract:In spite of remarkable results obtained, China requires more sophisticated economic structure and flexible institutions to foster its development in a more difficult context. Particularly important are the integration of public and private sectors, proper division of labor between them, and cooperative distinction of roles. The expansion of the private sector and entrepreneurship have been leading factors in China’s economic miracle. However, despite the numbers of new private enterprises increasing, their dynamic innovation slowed down in recent years. This negatively affects the sustainability of China’s economic growth. This paper considers several reasons for the attenuation of Chinese entrepreneurship and considers that it requires the revival of enterprise and ownership reform together with support to their innovative role. The latter should complement innovation in the public sector to counterbalance the biased structure and nature of Chinese innovation and afford new international challenges. This paper contributes to identifying solutions for reversing the deterioration of entrepreneurship in the frame of enterprises and ownership reform. Solutions lie in institutional innovation, like accelerating the pace of market-oriented reform, improving corporate governance for state-owned enterprises and commercial banks, strengthening domestic competitions, and deepening the mixed ownership reform.

The Impact of Incubator Network Strategy on the Entrepreneurial Performance of Start-Ups: a Resource Bricolage Perspective

Abstract:In the realm of entrepreneurship, incubators have emerged as indispensable facilitators, serving as crucial avenues for entrepreneurs to establish external network connections and secure access to vital resources. This study draws upon the principles of social network theory and employs hierarchical regression analysis. The primary focus of our investigation is to elucidate how incubators' network-building endeavors exert a substantial influence on the entrepreneurial performance of start-ups, from the perspective of resource bricolage. Our research examined a sample of 465 start-ups in China. The empirical findings that have emerged from our study reveal the positive impact of incubator network building on the entrepreneurial performance of start-ups. Importantly, this impact is not isolated but instead is partially mediated through the lens of resource bricolage, highlighting the innovative use of available resources. Furthermore, we shed light on the moderating role of network proactiveness, revealing its positive influence on the relationship between incubator network building and the resource bricolage employed by start-ups. This study significantly enriches the existing body of knowledge by advancing our comprehension of the intricate mechanisms governing the incubator start-ups dynamic. It contributes to a deeper understanding of how diverse incubator network mechanisms shape the accumulation of resources and capabilities within start-ups, shedding new light on the path to entrepreneurial success.

Abstract:Since the 1980s, technology business incubators (TBIs), which focus on accelerating businesses through resource sharing, knowledge agglomeration, and technology innovation, have become a booming industry. As such, research on TBIs has gained international attention, most notably in the United States, Europe, Japan, and China. The present study proposes an entrepreneurial ecosystem framework with four key components, i.e., people, technology, capital, and infrastructure, to investigate which factors have an impact on the performance of TBIs. We also empirically examine this framework based on unique, three-year panel survey data from 857 national TBIs across China. We implemented factor analysis and panel regression models on dozens of variables from 857 national TBIs between 2015 and 2017 in all major cities in China and found that a number of factors associated with people, technology, capital, and infrastructure components have various statistically significant impacts on the performance of TBIs at either national model or regional models.
