Abstract:Polysaccharides are biopolymers composed of a large number of monosaccharides linked by glycosidic bonds. Jujube polysaccharide has many biological activities, such as anti-oxidation, anti-aging and promoting immunity. It can be used in food, medicine, biomedicine and other fields. The extraction methods of jujube polysaccharide were reviewed, including traditional hot water extraction, subcritical water extraction, microwave-assisted extraction, ultrasonic assisted extraction, enzyme assisted extraction and supercritical CO2 extraction. This review will provide a reference for the study of jujube polysaccharide.

Abstract:Objective:To optimize extraction technology for jujube dispensing granules.Methods:L9 (34) orthogonal design was adopted to arrange the,experiment,extraction technology for jujube dispensing granules was optimized by taking paste rate,the contents of polysaccharide and total flavonoids as the investigation indexes.Results:The optimal water extraction process was adding 12 times of water,soaking for 30 minutes,extracting three times,and 3h each time.Conclusion:The optimized extraction technology for jujube dispensing granules is stable,feasible,reasonable and reliable.

Abstract:The orthogonal test design was adopted to study the optimal technics of Extracting Polysaccharide from Jujubal.The results showed that the best extraction effect is when the water volume was 40 times,the pH of solution was 8,the soaking and extracting temperature was 100℃,and the soaking and extracting time was 60 minutes.According to the influence of external factors to the extraction effect,the order is like this: the volume of waterPH of solutionthe soaking and extracting temperature the soaking and extracting time.

Abstract:Objective With the wild jujube as raw material,to study the effect of ultrasonic assisted method on yield of polysac-charide extracted from wild jujube.Method Based on the single factor experiments,studied the extraction temperature,ratio of mate-rial to liquid,ultrasonic power on the effects of wild jujube yield of Polysaccharide by orthogonal experiments,and further optimized the process of ultrasonic assisted extraction.Results the best extraction process of jujube polysaccharide as:extraction temperature of 80℃,the ratio of material to liquid is 1∶25,ultrasonic power 80W,ultrasonic time 40min,under this condition,the extraction rate of wild jujube polysaccharide could up to 18.81%,and the product is light yellow powder.Conclusion compared with the traditional ex-traction method to extract polysaccharide from wild jujube,the ultrasound assisted method could give higher yield with shorter time.

Abstract:Objective:To investigate the purification condition of macroporous resin for jujube polysaccharide. Methods:The best resin (AB-8) was screened by adsorption-desorption test. Results:The optimal purification para-meters of this resin for jujube polysaccharide were 30 mL sampling amount, room temperature (20℃) and 2.0 mL/min elution flow rate. The higher purification rate of the jujube polysaccharide can be achieved. Conclusion:This purifi-cation technology is stable and reasonable, and it can provide the foundation for industrial production.

Abstract:Response surface methodology was used to optimize the simultaneous extraction of flavonoids, saponins and triterpenoid acids from 'Luzao No.1' jujube. On the basis of single factor experiment, the extraction temperature, liquid-solid ratio and ethanol concentration were selected as independent variables, and the box-Benhnken central group method was used to design the three-factor and three-level experiment. The response surface analysis was carried out based on the simultaneous extraction rates of flavonoids, saponins and triterpenoid acid as response values. Design-Expert 8.0.6 software was used for multiple regression fitting of test data. The results showed that the optimal extraction conditions of flavonoids, saponins and triterpenoid acid were as following: temperature 65 degrees C, solid-liquid ratio 1:25 (g mL(-1)), ethanol concentration 70%. The simultaneous extraction of flavonoids, saponins and triterpenoid acid reached 4.34 mg g(-1) under these conditions, which provided a theoretical basis for the deep development and comprehensive utilization of jujube resources.

Abstract:This study investigated the effect of ultrasound-assisted enzymatic extraction (UAEE) on the extraction efficiency, antioxidant activity, and structural properties of jujube polysaccharide (JPS), with hot water extraction (HWE), ultrasound-assisted extraction (UAE), and enzymatic-assisted extraction (EAE) serving as controls. Optimal extraction conditions were determined through a multi-index weighted scoring method that comprehensively accounted for yield, duration, and antioxidant activity. Results demonstrated that the JPS yield obtained by UAEE at 22/33 kHz was 10.5 % to 16.3 % higher than those achieved by the other methods, significantly enhancing antioxidant activity. Monosaccharide composition analysis revealed that UAEE increased the content of key mono-sugars in JPS. Additionally, assessments of molecular weight distribution, zeta potential, and rheological properties showed that UAEE reduced the molecular weight and apparent viscosity of JPS, resulting in a looser structural configuration. These structural modifications were observed in scanning electron microscope (SEM) images, which revealed a filamentous branched morphology in JPS obtained through UAEE. Further observations using the atomic force microscope (AFM) indicated that the polysaccharide chains extracted by UAEE were shorter in length, lower in height, and free from aggregation.

Abstract:The essay mainly intends to make a study on the processing technology of fresh jujube beverage made out of fresh jujube. The enzyme hydrolysis conditions on physical and chemical properties of fresh jujube beverage are investigated. The results shows that the optimum is an pectinex enzyme dosage of 80 mL/t, an amylase enzyme dosage of 100 mL/t and an pectinase enzyme dosage of 120 mL/t. This drink has moderate sweet and sour, has flavor and color of fresh jujube, is nutrition and health care beverage.

Abstract:To investigate the structural information differences of Ziziphus Jujuba cv. Muzao polysaccharides, ten samples were successfully extracted from aqueous and alkaline solutions, prepared via DEAE-Sepharose Fast Flow through different eluents and Sephacryl S-300 columns, and systematically analyzed. Their characteristics were studied and then compared using chemical testing, high-performance gel permeation chromatography (HPGPC), gas chromatography (GC), methylation analysis, and NMR spectroscopy. The data achieved demonstrated that different jujube polysaccharide fractions possessed different structural characteristics, and most of them belonged to pectic polysaccharides. Overall, the structural information difference of jujube polysaccharides was preliminarily illuminated, which could not only promote the potential application of Z. Jujuba cv. Muzao polysaccharides but also provide an effective way to analyze the structures of polysaccharides from other genera jujube fruit.

Abstract:Ziziphus jujuba cv. Muzao is a plant widely cultivated in the Yellow River Basin of China. It has nutritional and healthcare functions, in which polysaccharides are the main components of its bio-functions. In order to make effective use of Ziziphus jujuba cv. Muzao residue resources and explore new functional food ingredients, the polysaccharide (ZJRP) from Ziziphus jujuba cv. Muzao residues were extracted by sodium hydroxide, and the optimal extraction conditions of ZJRP were obtained by the response surface method. The basic composition and antioxidant effects of ZJRP were determined. The results showed that ZJRP has significant antioxidant activity, mainly reflected in the high DPPH radical scavenging rate, which may be related to their high content of galacturonic acid and the extraction method. In addition, the rheological and thermal properties of ZJRP were respectively determined by a rheometer and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), indicating that they have shear thinning properties and good thermal stability. Results showed that the alkaline extraction method can be used as a potential technique for extracting ZJRP with high antioxidant activity, and ZJRP can be further explored as a functional food ingredient.

Abstract:As a discarded byproduct of jujube (Z. jujuba), its seeds contain various biological components. Response surface methodology was used to optimize ultrasound-assisted heating extraction conditions of polysaccharides from Z. jujuba cv. Ruoqiangzao seeds (ZJSPs). The optimal parameters were as follows: temperature 83.1 °C, time 100 min, ultrasonic power 140 W, and water-material ratio 33.5 mL/g, allowed a maximum yield of 1.97%. One main fraction (ZJSPs-1) was successfully purified by ion-exchange and gel-permeation chromatography. With a molecular weight of 342 kDa, ZJSPs-1 was composed of arabinose, glucose, xylose, galactose and rhamnose. The presence of pyranose-form sugars as well as both α- and β-configurations was validated by FT-IR and 1H NMR. TG/DSC indicated that ZJSPs-1 has a favorable thermal stability. XRD suggested that ZJSPs-1 exhibited both crystalline and amorphous portions. ZJSPs-1 was in aggregates of homogenous-dense honeycomb like structures observed by SEM and AFM. ZJSPs-1 possessed antitumor activities against HeLa cells in a dose- and time-dependent manner at 24 and 48 h with IC50 of 164.6 and 87.1 μg/mL, respectively. Fluorescent microscopic and flow cytometry revealed that ZJSPs-1 inhibited the proliferation of HeLa cells through apoptosis. Z. jujuba seeds are good sources for antitumor polysaccharides in pharmaceutical and food industries.

Abstract:Ethanol precipitation is an important separation and purification process in the traditional Chinese medicines (TCMs) industry. In the present study, a membrane dispersion micromixer was applied to achieve good mixing for the ethanol precipitation process of Astragali radix concentrate. New experimental apparatus was set up to rapidly lower the temperature of ethanol solution before mixing with the concentrate. Ethanol precipitation process was optimized according to Quality by design concept. To identify critical material attributes (CMAs), ten batches of Astragali radix were used to prepare concentrates. Calycosin-7-O-β-D-glucoside content, the sucrose content, and the electrical conductivity were found to be CMAs after the correlation analysis and stepwise regression modelling. Definitive screening design was used to investigate the relationships among critical process parameters, CMAs, and process critical quality attributes (CQAs). Quadratic models were developed and design space was calculated according to the probability of attaining process CQA standards. A material quality control strategy was proposed. High quality and low quality Astragali radix concentrates can be discriminated by the inequalities. Low quality Astragali radix concentrates should not be released for ethanol precipitation process directly. Verification experiment results indicated accurate models and reliable design space. The temperature control method and control strategy are promising for ethanol precipitation process of other TCMs or foods.

Abstract:Because of its rich active ingredients, Chinese date is one of the key plants in the study of natural products. Polysaccharide is an important active ingredient in Chinese date. Recent studies have shown that Chinese date polysaccharide has good antioxidant activity, anti-tumor activity, anti-inflammatory activity, immunomodulatory activity and hepatoprotective effect. Herein, the research progress on the extraction, purification, structure, activity and derivatization of Chinese date polysaccharides was reviewed. Several common extraction methods of Chinese date polysaccharide were compared, the new extraction methods of Chinese date polysaccharide were discussed, the purification methods of Chinese date polysaccharide were summarized, and the structure and activity of Chinese date polysaccharide were mainly discussed. Suggestions for structural reconstruction were put forward. The results provided a reference for the follow-up research, production and application of Chinese date polysaccharide, and laid a foundation for the development of Chinese date polysaccharide-related foods.

Abstract:The ultrafiltration and nanofiltration membranes were used to separate the crude polysaccharides, crude oligosaccharides and monosaccharide from Ziziphus jujube dates extract. The membranes with different molecular weight cut-off（10000, 5000, 800, 500 u） were screened and the operation conditions were optimized. It turned out that ultrafiltration was performed with 10000 u membrane and 3% of soluble solids at 0.12 MPa. Nanofiltration was carried out with 500 u membrane and 1.0% of soluble solids at 0.54 MPa. The final yield of crude polysaccharides was 5.21%, crude oligosaccharides was 19.24% and the monosaccharide was 58.27%. The purity was up to 52.61%, 54.78 % and 84.00%, respectively.

Abstract:With total soluble solids and extraction rate as the evaluation indexes,golden jujube from Laoling City,Shandong Province was extracted with water for studying the suitable technology,which was determined to include the smashing of the jujube for passing a 4-mesh sieve and then extracting at 85℃ for 60 min with the ratio of solid to liquid set as 1 :8.The extraction rate reached 47.4%.

Abstract:China is the largest producer of jujubes in the world, with the Xinjiang region accounting for about 50 % of the total production. However, local jujube processing still relies on traditional methods, leading to reduced industrial efficiency. Research shows that jujube polysaccharides possess various biological properties, such as antioxidant, anti-tumor, and anti-inflammatory activities. Enhancing the extraction of jujube polysaccharides to boost their food, medicinal, and economic value has become an important development direction of the jujube industry. This paper reviews the current research on the active functions of grey jujube polysaccharides, extraction technologies, and recent advancements in their production and application. It systematically introduces both traditional and emerging extraction technologies and summarizes the current state of production and application of grey jujube polysaccharides. The aim is to provide references for other researchers interested in jujube polysaccharides and to extend the value chain of the grey jujube industry.

Abstract:Taking jujube slag as material,insoluble dietary fiber of enzymatic extraction technology by single factor and orthogonal test from jujube slag and functional properties were studied.The results showed that the water bath temperature,bath time,type and adding amount of enzymes had significant effects on yield rate of insoluble dietary fiber, and the optimizing condition of enzymatic extraction technology wasα?amylase dosage of 1.0%,water bath time of 90 min,water bath temperature of 70℃.Under the condition,the yield rate was 24.8%and was 1.50times than that of chemical extraction technology.But the water-holding capacity,oil-holding capacity and expansion ratio of insoluble diary fiber by enzymatic extraction technology were lower compared with the chemical technology.

Abstract:The studies focused on plant soluble dietary fiber. The apparent characteristics of SDF from the Jujube under different treatment methods can provide theoretical support for product development to obtain the best trait products. Optimal extraction conditions, physical properties and antioxidant activity of SDF from the Jujube were investigated. The yield of 20.17 ± 0.16 % for extraction of soluble dietary fiber from Jujube were obtained as extraction temperature was 94 °C, extraction time was 40 min and ratio of raw material to water was 1:21. The physical properties of SDF were ascertained by measuring dissolution time, rehydration, swelling ability and bulk density, respectively. And it was evaluated by FT-IR and scanning electronic microscopy (SEM). Furthermore, it was proved that the soluble dietary fiber extracted by vacuum freeze dried had higher scavenging ability than that of vacuum dried and hot dried against DPPH, ABTS+ and hydroxyl radical. It has good antioxidant function and can slow down intestinal aging as a basis for new food development.

Abstract:Polysaccharides were extracted from Zizyphus jujuba cv. yuanlingdazao. A novel ultrasonic extraction technology was applied to the polysaccharides extraction. The main effect of ultrasonic power and ultrasonic time was significant. The results indicated that the order of the influence of the four factors on the yield of polysaccharides was ultrasonic power,extraction time,extraction temperature and the liquid-solid ratio. The interaction between ultrasonic power and extraction temperature was not significant. The interaction between other factors on the influence of the polysaccharide extraction yield was significant. The optimal extraction conditions were ultrasonic power of 360W,extraction time of 40min,extraction temperature of 55℃ and liquid-solid ratio of 12∶ 1. Under these conditions,the experimental yield of polysaccharides was 4. 93%.
