Abstract:This paper concentrates on studying the long-term behavior of a single-species population living in a polluted environment. A new mathematical model is derived assuming that a born organism takes with it a quantity of internal toxicant, and the amount of toxicant stored in each living organism which dies is drifted into the environment. Sufficient criteria for uniform persistence, weak persistence in the mean or extinction of the population are obtained. Also we find some sufficient conditions, depending on the parameters of the model and the clean up rate, under which the population will be persistent.

Abstract:This paper reports on the behaviors of single species models with and without pollution. We consider three basic models, one is deterministic, and others are stochastic. We first obtained the acute thresholds between local extinction and (stochastic) weakly persistent in the mean for population respectively. Then we study the attainability of population size 0 for the stochastic cases and show that a randomized non-autonomous logistic equation will be stochastic permanent under some conditions. Finally, we introduce some numerical simulink graphics to illustrate our main results.

Subject to the outside toxin input quantity being stable, the authors established the sufficient conditions under which the species will be permanent using Lyapunov method. Abstract:Stochastic cooperation model of two species with generalized dose-response function in a polluted environment is studied. Sufficient criteria for extinction, non-persistence in the mean, weak persistence in the mean, strong persistence in the mean and stochastic persistence are established. The threshold between weak persistence in the mean and extinction for each species is obtained. Certain long-run-average limits of the solutions are represented by two constants in some cases. The results also reveal that both the stochastic noises and the dose-response function play important roles in determining the persistence or extinction of the species.

Considering the effect of the variance of the population on the internal and environmental toxicant concentration, we modify the traditional Smith's system, and give some sufficient criteria under which the population will be weakly persistent in the mean or go to extinction.The threshold between weak persistence in the mean and extinction can be established in some case.

This work still devotes to studying three stochastic single-species models in a polluted environment. For the first system, sufficient criteria for extinction, stochastic non-persistence in the mean, stochastic weak persistence in the mean, stochastic strong persistence in the mean and stochastic permanence of the population are established. The threshold between stochastic weak persistence in the mean and extinction is obtained. For the second model, sufficient conditions for extinction, stochastic non-persistence in the mean, stochastic weak persistence, stochastic weak persistence in the mean, stochastic strong persistence in the mean and stochastic permanence are established. The threshold between stochastic weak persistence and extinction is derived. For the third system, the threshold between stochastic weak persistence and extinction is obtained.

Abstract:Thresholds for extinction and persistence are important for assessing the risk of mortality in systems exposed to toxicant. In this paper, three single-species models with random perturbation in a polluted environment are proposed and investigated. One is the generalized logistic model and the other two are the stochastic resource–consumer models of Leslie and Gallopin. For each model, the survival threshold is obtained in some cases. In general, each threshold is determined by intensity of the random noise, the mean stress measure in organisms, the population intrinsic growth rate and the stress response rate.

Abstract:This paper is concerned with a stochastic single-species system with Levy jumps in a polluted environment. Some sufficient conditions on extinction, non-persistence in the mean, weak persistence in the mean, strong persistence in the mean, stability in the mean and stochastic permanence are obtained. The threshold between extinction and weak persistence in the mean is established. At the same time, under a simple condition, it is proved that this threshold also is the threshold between extinction and stability in the mean. The results reveal that Levy jumps have significant effects to the persistence and extinction results.

Abstract:Stochastic competitive models with pollution and without pollution are proposed and studied. For the first system with pollution, sufficient criteria for extinction, nonpersistence in the mean, weak persistence in the mean, strong persistence in the mean, and stochastic permanence are established. The threshold between weak persistence in the mean and extinction for each population is obtained. It is found that stochastic disturbance is favorable for the survival of one species and is unfavorable for the survival of the other species. For the second system with pollution, sufficient conditions for extinction and weak persistence are obtained. For the model without pollution, a partial stochastic competitive exclusion principle is derived.

Abstract:Many studies of mathematical epidemiology assume that model parameters are precisely known. However, they can be imprecise due to various uncertainties. Deterministic epidemic models are also subjected to stochastic perturbations. In this paper, we analyze a stochastic SIRS model that includes interval parameters and environmental noises. We define the stochastic basic reproduction number, which is shown to govern disease extinction or persistence. When it is less than one, the disease is predicted to die out with probability one. When it is greater than one, the model admits a stationary distribution. Thus, larger stochastic noises (resulting in a smaller stochastic basic reproduction number) are able to suppress the emergence of disease outbreaks. Using numerical simulations, we also investigate the influence of parameter imprecision and susceptible response to the disease information that may change individual behavior and protect the susceptible from infection. These parameters can greatly affect the long-term behavior of the system, highlighting the importance of incorporating parameter imprecision into epidemic models and the role of information intervention in the control of infectious diseases.

Abstract:With the development of industries and agricultures,great economic profits have been brought;but in the meanwhile environment pollutions have also been made.Many species not only live in the danger of toxicant pollution,but also face peoples' harvesting.Therefore,some species are i the verge of extinction.More and more people are concerned about the harvesting of speces living in the polluted environment.Based on paper [3],we point out some disadvantage of model before and give a developed model.We obtain the sufficient conditions of persistence and extinction;and also give an example to show the relation between the toxicant input rate from environment and harvesting rate.

Abstract:This paper uses SIR model to back-analyze the parameters of SARS transmission based on the data released by the health authorities of Beijing and Hong Kong, we get the important parameters such as the peak period, the hospitalized cases and the removed parameter. It can be seen that these parameters of the model allow for better understanding of the SARS transmission because the result fits the actual data approximately. As a result, SIR model could be used to fit data, predict trend and simulate process of SARS transmission.

Abstract:An eco-epidemiological SIS model of predator with epidemic was formulated and analyzed when the prey and predator with logistic growth was considered.Firstly,the existence of the equilibrium was studied.Secondly,the sufficient condition of local asymptotical stability of the equilibrium was obtained by using characteristic root method and Hurwitz criterion.Finally,the sufficient condition of the global asymptotical stability of the equilibrium was obtained by using Bendixson-Dulac criterion and constructing Liapunov function.The conclusions improved the results obtained by Zhang et al.in 2009.

Abstract:This paper deals with the nonlinear dynamics of a susceptible-infectious-recovered (SIR) epidemic model with nonlinear incidence rate, vertical transmission, vaccination for the newborns of susceptible and recovered individuals, and the capacity of treatment. It is assumed that the treatment rate is proportional to the number of infectives when it is below the capacity and constant when the number of infectives reaches the capacity. Under some conditions, it is shown that there exists a backward bifurcation from an endemic equilibrium, which implies that the disease-free equilibrium coexists with an endemic equilibrium. In such a case, reducing the basic reproduction number less than unity is not enough to control and eradicate the disease, extra measures are needed to ensure that the solutions approach the disease-free equilibrium. When the basic reproduction number is greater than unity, the model can have multiple endemic equilibria due to the effect of treatment, vaccination and other parameters. The existence and stability of the endemic equilibria of the model are analyzed and sufficient conditions on the existence and stability of a limit cycle are obtained. Numerical simulations are presented to illustrate the analytical results.
Single-species population models with age structure and psychological effect in a polluted environment

Abstract:This paper considers a single-population model with age structure and psychological effects in a polluted environment. We divide the single population into two stages of larval and adult structure. The model uses Logistic input, and the larvae are converted into adult bodies by constant ratio. We only consider adulthood. The role of psychological effects makes the contact between adult and environmental toxins a functional form, while the contact between larvae and environmental toxins is linear. For the deterministic model embodied as a nonlinear time-varying system, we discuss the asymptotic stability of the system by Lyapunov one-time approximation theory, and give a sufficient condition for stability to be established. Considering that the contact rate between biological and environmental toxins in nature is not always constant, we make the contact rate interfere with white noise, and then modify the contact rate into a stochastic process, thus establishing a corresponding random single-population model. According to Itô formula and Lyapunov in the function method, we first prove the existence of globally unique positive solutions for stochastic models under arbitrary initial conditions, and then give sufficient conditions for weak average long-term survival and random long-term survival for single populations in the expected sense.

Abstract:In this paper, we use a mean-reverting Ornstein-Uhlenbeck process to simulate the stochastic perturbations in the environment, and then a modified Leslie-Gower Holling-type II predator-prey stochastic model in a polluted environment with interspecific competition and pulse toxicant input is proposed. Through constructing V-function and applying Ito^'s formula, the sharp sufficient conditions including strongly persistent in the mean, persistent in the mean and extinction are established. In addition, the theoretical results are verified by numerical simulation.

Abstract:Some infectious diseases can cause individuals' death, and aging factor is not negligible in the disease-induced death. In addition, incidence rate often plays a great role in modeling the spread of diseases. Hence, we consider two Susceptible-Infective-Recovered-Deceased-Susceptible (SIRDS) models with aging population factor and different incidence rates in this paper. The first model assumes the bilinear incidence rate, whereas the second model assumes the standard incidence rate. We investigate the dynamic properties of each model through both analytical and numerical approaches. Our results indicate that the dynamical properties of the first model are entirely dominated by the basic reproduction number, while additional condition is needed for the second one. Moreover, for the first model without vital dynamics and re-susceptibility, we derive an equation for the final size, analyze the solution of the implicit equation and identify some critical model parameters. Finally, numerical simulations are conducted to shed some light on the development of control strategies and to verify theoretical results.
Analysis of a Reaction-Diffusion SIR Epidemic Model with Noncompliant Behavior

Abstract:Recent work from public health experts suggests that incorporating human behavior is crucial in faithfully modeling an epidemic. We present a reaction-diffusion partial differential equation SIR-type population model for an epidemic including behavioral concerns. In our model, the disease spreads via mass action, as is customary in compartmental models. However, drawing from social contagion theory, we assume that as the disease spreads and prevention measures are enacted, noncompliance with prevention measures also spreads throughout the population. We prove global existence of classical solutions of our model, and then perform R0-type analysis and determine asymptotic behavior of the model in different parameter regimes. Finally, we simulate the model and discuss the new facets which distinguish our model from basic SIR-type models.
