Advanced Treatment of Coking Plant Wastewater by Fenton-BAF

Abstract:Coking wastewater,which contains lots of persistent organic pollutants,is hard to meet the discharge standard by regular biochemical treatment.Combining processes of Fenton and BAF was used to advanced treat the wastewater after the biochemical treatment.With the lowest cost,the optimal operating conditions were: n(H2O2)∶n(Fe2+)=0.68,Fe2+=2 g/L,the reaction time was 90 min and pH=5.Coking waster,which had been treated by biochemical process,inducted into combining porcesses of Fenton and BAF lasted 12 h,COD of the final effluent was less than 100 mg/L,color was less than 50 times,which has met the national first-grade standard of effluent.
