Fungicidal Activity of Wheat Endophytes against Wheat Head Blight

Abstract:Ninety eight strains of endophytes were isolated from healthy wheat,and fermentation broth of 6 strains could inhibit the mycelial growth of Gibberella zeae.The fungicidal activity against wheat head blight of 6 strains was further studied in vitro and in vivo.Results showed that the fermentation broth of endophytic actinomycete strains JY2001-4 and JY2001-10 have excellent control efficacy against wheat head blight.The bioassay results of wheat spikelet test showed that the protective efficacy of the both broth reached 83.33% and 86.67%,the curative efficacy reached 73.33% and 78.33%,respectively.The field trials indicated that the protective efficacy of the both broth achieved 60.49% and 67.34%,curative efficacy achieved 53.01% and 55.33%,respectively.
