Abstract:Three-month-old Phyllostachys pubescens Mazel was selected as material for separating hemicelluloses.Fractional isolation was used to extract hemicelluloses from P.pubescens stems. The chemical analysis methods combined with instrumental analysis methods were used to study the structural characterization of hemicelluloses. The thermogravimetric analysis(TGA) was used to study the pyrolysis characteristics of hemicelluloses. The result showed that the hemicelluloses is composed of mainly D-xylose,followed by arabinose(main component),D-galactose,mannose,glucose and a small amount of ribose.β-(1→4)-D-linked xylose is the main linkage of hemicelluloses, which is substituted by α-L-arabinofuranose at C-2 and/or C-3 of xylan. The glucuronic acid connected to xylan at C-2 through 4-O-methyl-.The thermal gracimentric analysis(TGA) indicated that the hemicelluloses pyrolysis is divided into three stages, the main pyrolysis is mainly from 180 to 400℃.The maximum weight loss is between 250℃ and 300℃.The more the branched-chain of the hemicelluloses is,the poorer the thermal stability is.The residue rate increases with the increase of linked lignin.
