Abstract:Biodegradable polymers are the first choice for drug carrier material because they are secure,reliable,good biocompatibility and excreted through physiologicalmeans such as metabolism.This article gave a brief overview on the main common natural and synthetic biodegradable polymer such as chitosan,cyclodextrin,collagen,polylactic acid,polyanhydride,amino acid type of polymer.We discuss their function and effect on drug delivery system applications.At last,we have an outlook on its deve-lopment trends.
