Analysis on Perioperative Preventive Use of Antibacterials in Children's Hospital

Abstract:OBJECTIVE To investigate the preventive use of antibacterials in surgery.METHODS 170 operation histories which are the select date operations of top seven of type I and II incisions in 2007 were reviewed retrospectively and analyzed statistically by questionnaire survey.RESULTS 37.35% had preventive use of antibacterials in type I incisions;100% had preventive use of antibacterials in type II incisions.9.64% had combined use of drugs in type I incisions;35.63% had combined use of drugs in type II incisions.The category of lactam of β is in the high frequency of appling.In type I incisions,52 examples didn't apply antibacterials and 19 examples(61.29%) applied antibacterials at the beginning of operation.In type II incisions,48.28% applied antibacterials at the beginning of operation.3.33% had applied antibacterials for less than 2 days.50.00% had applied antibacterials for about 2 or 7 days.CONCLUSION Preventive antibacterials using in perioperation period of GuangZhou Children's Hospital is that in type I incisions,93.98% is radically reasonable and in type II incisions,65.52% is radically reasonable.The survey showed that there are still some problems involved in the preventive use of antibacterials in surgery,lack of medication indications,medicion time of non licet,course of treatment etc,all of which call for our attention.
