Abstract:A ring R is called a right WPF-ring (weak PF-ring) if R is a serniperfect right simple-injective ring with essential right socle. The class of right WPF-rings is broader than that of right PF-rings. In this article, we study and provide several characterizations of this new class of rings. We also show that if R is a left perfect, left and right f-injective ring, then R is QF if and only if Soc(2)(R) is a finitely generated right R-module if and only if R/Soc(R) is a finitely cogenerated left R-module. Some known results are obtained as corollaries.

Abstract:An $n$-FC ring is a left and right coherent ring whose left and right self FP-injective dimension is $n$. The work of Ding and Chen in \cite{ding and chen 93} and \cite{ding and chen 96} shows that these rings possess properties which generalize those of $n$-Gorenstein rings. In this paper we call a (left and right) coherent ring with finite (left and right) self FP-injective dimension a Ding-Chen ring. In case the ring is Noetherian these are exactly the Gorenstein rings. We look at classes of modules we call Ding projective, Ding injective and Ding flat which are meant as analogs to Enochs' Gorenstein projective, Gorenstein injective and Gorenstein flat modules. We develop basic properties of these modules. We then show that each of the standard model structures on Mod-$R$, when $R$ is a Gorenstein ring, generalizes to the Ding-Chen case. We show that when $R$ is a commutative Ding-Chen ring and $G$ is a finite group, the group ring $R[G]$ is a Ding-Chen ring.

Abstract:Let R be a ring, n a fixed non-negative integer and FIn (F-n) the class of all right (left) R-modules of FP-injective (flat) dimension at most n. We prove that (FIn, FIn perpendicular to) is a perfect cotorsion theory if R is a right coherent ring with FP-id (R-R) <= n. This result was proven by Aldrich, Enochs, Jenda, and Oyonarte in Noetherian case. The modules in F-n(perpendicular to) are also studied. Some applications are given.

Abstract:In this paper, we prove that R is a two-sided Artinian ring and J is a right annihilator ideal if and only if (i) for any nonzero right module, there is a nonzero linear map from it to a projective module; (ii) every submodule of R R is not a radical module for some right coherent rings. We call a ring a right X ring if Hom R ( M, R ) = 0 for any right module M implies that M = 0. We can prove some left Goldie and right X rings are right Artinian rings. Moreover we characterize semisimple rings by using X rings. A famous Faith’s conjecture is whether a semipimary PF ring is a QF ring. Similarly we study the relationship between X rings and QF and get many interesting results.
On the rings whose injective right modules are max-projective

Abstract:Recently, the rings whose injective right modules are R-projective (respectively, max-projective) were investigated and studied in [2]. Such ring are called right almost-QF (respectively, max-QF). In this paper, our aim is to give some further characterization of these rings over more general classes of rings, and address several questions about these rings. We obtain characterizations of max-QF rings over several classes of rings including local, semilocal right semihereditary, right nonsingular right noetherian and right nonsingular right finite dimensional rings. We prove that for a ring R being right almost-QF and right max-QF are not left-right symmetric. We also show that right almost-QF and right max-QF rings are not closed under factor rings. This leads to consider the rings all of whose factor rings are almost-QF and max-QF.

Abstract:In this paper, we define and study a notion of Ding projective dimension for complexes of left modules over associative rings. In particular, we consider the class of homologically bounded below complexes of left R-modules, and show that Ding projective dimension has a nice functorial description.

Tor(1)(N, F/C) = 0) for any cyclic submodule C of any finitely generated free left R-module F. It is shownthat R is a left pseudo-coherentring if and only if any direct product of singly flat right R-modules is singly flat if and only if any direct limit of singly injective left R-modules is singly injective if and only if every right R-module has a singly flat preenvelope; and every left R-module over a left pseudo-coherent ring R has a singly injective cover. Abstract:Let R be a left coherent ring, FP - id(R)R the FP - injective dimension of (R)R and wD(R) the weak global dimension of R. It is shown that 1) FP-id(R)R less-than-or-equal-to n (n greater-than-or-equal-to 0) if and only if every flat resolvent 0 --> M --> F0 --> F1 --> ... of a finitely presented right R - module M is exact at F(i) (i greater-than-or-equal-to n - 1 ) if and only if every nth F - cosyzygy of a finitely presented right R - module has a flat preenvelope which is a monomorphism; 2) wD(R) less-than-or-equal-to n (n greater-than-or-equal-to 1) if and only if every (n - 1)th F-cosyzygy of a finitely presented right R - module has a flat preenvelope which is an epimorphism; 3) wD(R) less-than-or-equal-to n (n greater-than-or-equal-to 0) if and only if every nth F - cosyzygy of a finitely presented right R - module is flat. In particular, left FC rings and left semihereditary rings are characterized.

Abstract:In this article we study the behavior of left QI-rings under perfect localizations. We show that a perfect localization of a left QI-ring is a left QI-ring. We prove that Boyle's conjecture is true for left QI-rings with finite Gabriel dimension such that the hereditary torsion theory generated by semisimple modules is perfect. As corollary we get that Boyle's conjecture is true for left QI-rings which satisfy the restricted left socle condition, this result was proved first by C. Faith in \cite{faithhereditary}.

Abstract:Let $\hat{R}$ be the $I$-adic completion of a commutative ring $R$ with respect to a finitely generated ideal $I$. We give a necessary and sufficient criterion for the category of perfect complexes over $\hat{R}$ to be equivalent to the subcategory of dualizable objects in the derived category of $I$-complete complexes of $R$-modules. Our criterion is always satisfied when $R$ is noetherian. When specialized to $R$ local and noetherian and to $I$ the maximal ideal, our theorem recovers a recent result of Benson, Iyengar, Krause and Pevtsova.

When every S-flat module is (flat) projective

Abstract:Let R be a commutative ring with identity and S a multiplicative subset of R. The aim of this paper is to study the class of commutative rings in which every S-flat module is flat (resp., projective). An R-module M is said to be S-flat if the localization of M at S, M_S, is a flat R_S-module. Commutative rings R for which all S-flat R-modules are flat are characterized by the fact that R/Rs is a von Neumann regular ring for every s in S. While, commutative rings R for which all S-flat R-modules are projective are characterized by the following two conditions: R is perfect and the Jacobson radical J(R) of R is S-divisible. Rings satisfying these conditions are called S-perfect. Moreover, we give some examples to distinguish perfect rings, S-perfect rings, and semisimple rings. We also investigate the transfer results of the "S-perfectness" for various ring constructions, which allows the construction of more interesting examples.

Abstract:We show that perfectoidization can be (almost) calculated by using p-root closure in certain cases, including the semiperfectoid case. To do this, we focus on the universality of perfectoidizations and uniform completions, as well as the p-root closed property of integral perfectoid rings. Through this calculation, we establish a connection between a classical closure operation "p-root closure" used by Roberts in mixed characteristic commutative algebra and a more recent concept of "perfectoidization" introduced by Bhatt and Scholze in their theory of prismatic cohomology.

Abstract:It is shown that if R is a right Noetherian ring whose right socle is essential as a right ideal and is contained in the left socle, then R is right Artinian. This result may be viewed as a one-sided version of a result of Ginn and Moss on two-sided Noetherian rings with essential socle. This also extends the work of Nicholson and Yousif where the same result is obtained under a stronger hypothesis. We use our work to obtain partial positive answers to some open questions on right CF, right FGF and right Johns rings.

Abstract:Let $R$ be a ring and $S$ a multiplicative subset of $R$. An $R$-module $T$ is called $u$-$S$-torsion ($u$- always abbreviates uniformly) provided that $sT=0$ for some $s\in S$. The notion of $u$-$S$-exact sequences is also introduced from the viewpoint of uniformity. An $R$-module $F$ is called $u$-$S$-flat provided that the induced sequence $0\rightarrow A\otimes_RF\rightarrow B\otimes_RF\rightarrow C\otimes_RF\rightarrow 0$ is $u$-$S$-exact for any $u$-$S$-exact sequence $0\rightarrow A\rightarrow B\rightarrow C\rightarrow 0$. A ring $R$ is called $u$-$S$-von Neumann regular provided there exists an element $s\in S$ satisfying that for any $a\in R$ there exists $r\in R$ such that $sa=ra^2$. We obtain that a ring $R$ is a $u$-$S$-von Neumann regular ring if and only if any $R$-module is $u$-$S$-flat. Several properties of $u$-$S$-flat modules and $u$-$S$-von Neumann regular rings are obtained.
