A Study of the Soft Power Model of the Wealth-Management Manager of Commercial Bank

Abstract:This paper uses behavioral-event interview, key-group analysis and other methods to build the soft power model of wealth-management manager of commercial bank and the competency standards of the wealth-management manage’s soft power of commercial bank. The results show that the wealth-management manager, who is primarily responsible for the wealth-management business of commercial bank, should have 10 characteristics of soft power competency, including teamwork, responsibility, initiative, service awareness, gathering information, professional knowledge, building relationship, communication skills, risk awareness and the capacity of public relations, etc. Based on the model of soft power, the wealth-management manager will grow on a more smooth path and achieve the leap from competence to excellence. The commercial banks can improve their management in the aspects of selection, cultivation, performance appraisal and career planning, etc., and build a competitive team of wealth-management managers to promote the restructuring and development of commercial banks.
