Effect of raw soybean milk by intragastric administration on exocrine pancreas of mice with acute pancreatitis

Abstract:AIM:To study the therapeutic effect of raw soybean milk on experimental acute pancreatitis(AP)in mice.METHODS:The acute pancreatitis in mice was induced by L-arginine.The AP mice were randomly divided into 4 groups:simple model group(n=38),raw soybean milk group(n=48),cooked soybean milk group(n=48)and boiled plain water group(n=48).The activity of serum amylase and the cumulative death rate of each group at different time points was calculated.RESULTS:The serum amylase activity of raw soybean milk group was significantly lower than that of the cooked soybean milk group or the boiled plain water group(P<0.05).During the cure course of 72 h and 7 d,the cumulative death rates at different time points of the raw soybean milk group were significantly lower than those of the other 2 groups.CONCLUSION:Raw soybean milk can significantly reduce the serum amylase activity and the death rate of the AP mice.Raw soybean milk has some therapeutic effect on AP,which may be related to the anti-inflammatory factors of the soybean trypsin inhibitor and the soybean isoflavone it contains.
