Study on Correlation among Anxiety & Depression and Social Support in Female Patients with Condyloma Acuminatum

Abstract:Objective To comprehend the state of anxiety,depression and social support in female patients with condyloma acuminatum along with the exploration of the correlation among them,with a view to providing theoretic basis for personal holostic medical nursing.Methods From January to September 2011,female outpatients with condyloma acuminatum in 7 hospitals of Shaoxing were surveyed with the general status questionnaire,self-rating anxiety scale(SAS),self-rating depression scale(SDS)and social support rating scale(SSRS).Results The scores of SAS and SDS,the total scores of SSRS and the scores of 3 demensions were lower than those of domestic routine(P<0.01).Meanwhile,some factors,such as the degree of education,employment and marriage significantly affected the state of their anxiety,depression and social support(P<0.05).Significantly negative correlation is found among patients' anxiety,depression and social support(P<0.05).Conclusion The patients are with higher incidences of anxiety and depression and the symptoms are severe.The current state of social support of the patients is not optimistic.Nurses should offer proper psychological support and improve the state of social support.Therefore,Medical practitioners should provide the corresponding psychosocial support to improve their social support status so as to enhance their social support and quality of life for their early recovery of psychosomatic health.
