Abstract:【Objective】 The genetic diversity and relationships of Cymbidium kanran resources were studied at molecular level for providing new molecular evidences of utilization and exploitation of germplasm resources of Cymbidium kanran. 【Method】 The sequence-related amplified polymorphism (SRAP) was assessed to analyze the genetic relationships among 51 Cymbidium kanran cultivars, thirty-seven of them originated from China, others from Japan. 【Result】 A total of 586 DNA bands were amplified by 11 selective primers, 504 of which (86.01%) were polymorphic. The average number of polymorphic DNA bands amplified by each primer was 46. Cluster analysis showed that the cymbidium could be divided into two clusters (Chinese orchid and Japanese orchid) based on geographic and ecological traits. 【Conclusion】 It was concluded that the SRAP technique has provided a powerful tool for cultivar identification and establishment of genetic relationships of cultivars in Cymbidium kanran.
