Abstract:"Eco-Landscape Infrastructure" has attracted people's attention with emerging practice,cases,and technology in the present world.Its role in reshaping contemporary landscapes through major public works has been witnessed all over the world.In terms of long-term social benefits,Eco-infrastructure is the blood of the cities,which is slow and long-lasting.When completed,its economic returns can also be slow and long-term.On one hand,infrastructure is a means to the end of a journey serving as a device for transporting,supporting and maintenance.On the other hand,it is also a catalyst,laying the foundations for social,economic and cultural changes and making the real world full of poetic meanings.Ecological civilization is a worldwide issue.It also has great significance for contemporary China.In the 16th National Congress it is made clear that Ecological civilization is one of the most important contents for socialist construction.As a result,we should not only attach great importance to ecological issues and thus solve the eco-environmental problems,but also view it as an important part for the construction of socialism with Chinese features as well as a significant issue for global development and human survival.Accordingly,with this ideological guidance,we can better recognize that the conventional infrastructure system,which was built based on population growth,is now unable to meet the challenges and needs of the ecological and sustainable urban development.Accordingly,it is even more challenging to achieve the goal of ecological civilization.It is under such a background that we put forward the theory of "Eco-landscape Infrastructure",which will be greatly helpful for exploring an effective way to control urban growth and protect its ecological and cultural characteristics.
