Abstract:Objective: In order to determine the influence of estrogen on the biological characteristics of periodontal ligament cells,the author investigate the influence of estrogen on the migration,proliferation and differentiation of periodontal ligament fibroblasts. Methods: The forth passages of periodontal ligament fibroblast were obtained and the wounding model in vitro of them was founded. The cells were cultured in mediums with estrogen or not. Their migration and proliferation were observed and measuered. The ALP of these cells cultured were evaluated. Results: The result showed that periodontal ligament fibroblasts in culture medium with estrogen had higher migration rate than other groups.Estrogen didn't affect the proliferation of periodontal ligament fibroblasts,but promoted the differation of periodontal ligament fibroblasts. Conclusion: It was concluded that estrogen could accelerate periodontal fibroblasts'migration and differentiation .
