Further, by constructing a Lyapunov functional, a set of easily verifiable sufficient conditions are derived for the uniqueness and global stability of positive periodic solutions to the system. With the help of differential equations with piecewise constant arguments, we first propose the discrete analogue of a continuous three species predator-prey system with discrete time delays. The approach used in the paper is the coincidence degree and the related continuation theorem as well as some priori estimations.

Abstract:In this paper, a discrete periodic predator–prey system with type IV functional responses and time delay is investigated. Using Gaines and Mawhin’s continuation theorem from coincidence degree theory as well as some prior estimates, we get sufficient conditions for the existence of positive periodic solutions of the system. This is also the first time that the coincidence degree theory has been used to obtain multiple positive periodic solutions in discrete ecological systems.

Abstract:This paper investigates the existence of periodic solutions of a ratio-dependent predator–prey system with stage-structured predator on time scales. We obtain criteria for the existence of periodic solutions of such a system. Moreover, when the time scale T is chosen as R or Z, the existence of the periodic solutions of the corresponding continuous and discrete models follows. Therefore, the methods are unified to provide the existence of the desired solutions for the continuous differential equations and discrete difference equations. The main approach is based on Gaines and Mawhin's continuation theorem of coincidence degree theory. This approach has been extensively used in studying existence problems in differential equations and difference equations, while it is rarely applied to study equations on time scales.

Abstract:In this paper, the nonlinear nonautonomous predator-prey model with impulsive effect is considered. Abstract:Reasonable sucient conditions are obtained for the existence of positive periodic solutions in periodic delayed Gause-type predator-prey systems. Our approach involves the application of coincidence degree theorem and estimations of uniform upper bounds on solutions. This method imposes minimum restrictions on the form and magnitude of time delays. Indeed, our results are applicable to discrete, distributed and statedependent delays. Our results indicate that seasonal eects on population models often lead to synchronous solutions. In addition, we may conclude that when both seasonality and time delay are present, the seasonality is often the generating force for the often observed fluctuations in population densities, including the inherently oscillatory predator-prey dynamics.
