On Evaluating Regional Cycling Economy——A Case Study of Jiangsu Province

Abstract:With all the many problems China is faced with in developing cycling economy,it is necessary for us to establish a system to evaluate the present situation in cycling economy.Based on the project of cycling economy in Jiangsu Province,this paper builds the evolution system of cycling economy and analyzes the situation of cycling economy from 1986 to 2003 in such four aspects as resource input,cycling use,pollution reduction,and economic development.The analysis shows that the cycling economy is developing at a steady speed.According to the trend of development from 1986 to 2003,the goal will not be achieved until 2022.Based on the case study,the paper also suggests some strategies to promote the development of cycling economy.
