Abstract:This paper makes a tentative attempt to analyze the grammatical,semantic and pragmatic features of V+ge+VP construction from the perspective of cognitive construction grammar approach,and we finds that it is an irreplaceable pairing of form and function,and it has two distinct pragmatic features: expressing special feelings and ge highlighting the focus—VP.On the basis of poly-coercion-inheritance approach,this construction can be seen as the inheritance and coercion from five constructions,and is formed by two polars(VO Construction and VC Construction)which,together with other constructions between them,form a continuum.
