Penetration enhancer for Xiao'er allaying a fever minitype enema gel

Abstract:OBJECTIVE To study the rectum mucous membrane permeation of borneol,menthol and azone for Xiao'er tuire minitype enema gel.METHODS Different gels containing different concentrations penetration enhancer were prepared.The flux of Gardenia glycoside from the gel was determined in vitro on excised pig rectum mucous membrane using modified Franz diffusion cells.And the accumulated permeation amount and permeation rate were determined by HPLC.RESULTS In Xiao'er tuire minitype enema gels containing different permeation enhancer,the enhancing permeation amount containing 1% menthol combined with 3% azone was obvious,the accumulated permeation amount and permeation rate by 1% menthol combined with 3% azone were 2.856 mg and 0.355 mg·h-1.CONCLUSION The maximum enhancement in the Xiao'er tuire minitype enema gel was 1% achieved by using menthol combined with 3% azone.
