Abstract:Academic literature includes abundant citation information, which becomes the major analysis object and hot topic in both bibliometry and scientific research evaluation field.Compared with quantitative analysis methods based on mathematics and statistics, the use of visualization methods can realize the vivid presentation of citation information in time sequence and hierarchy, as well as the interactive mining of complex citation networks, which is of great significance to the reform of scientific research evaluation and the innovation of bibliometric methods.This paper introduces domestic and foreign relevant research on academic citation information analysis in recent years, summarizes the general framework of academic citation information visualization;classifies visualization methods according to two types of analysis tasks, entity evaluation and bibliometry, then elaborates the current research status, advantages and disadvantages of each type of methods, and finally points out the challenges and directions for further exploration of academic citation information visualization.

Abstract:The analysis and evaluation of simulation data, especially the selection of assessment indexes and the establishment of index system, need the knowledge base or knowledge map of simulation application field as the expert knowledge support. The relational database of the existing combat simulation application system provides a reliable and easy to obtain data source for the construction of combat simulation domain knowledge map. This paper proposes an effective method to construct the knowledge map of simulation data based on relational database, which lays a foundation for the construction of combat simulation domain knowledge map and the analysis of simulation data based on knowledge map.

Abstract:This paper uses tools of information visualization to analyze the research papers of library science in CSSCI and display the research focuses,knowledge sources,and cooperation of institutions in recent 10 years.The results show that the research focuses include digital libraries,academic libraries,public libraries,information resources,information services,knowledge management,etc;the knowledge sources come from the books/papers of basic theory research,cataloging and classification;the cooperation can be only found in a small number of institutions,with low whole tightness and some geopolitical features.

Abstract:An important development task for academic journal database systems is analyzing and measuring citation data among academic papers. By understanding and evaluating the value of academic journal papers,the development of bibliometric functions in a journal database system is discussed thoroughly from the following five aspects:simple counting; chronological analysis; synchronous analysis; clustering analysis and journal-oriented special analysis. Their objects,indicators,suitable result displays and development strategies in all above analyses are also given respectively. At last,some opinions about biblometric function design and implementation are provided.

Abstract:Abstract Purpose We present a systematic review of the literature concerning major aspects of science mapping to serve two primary purposes: First, to demonstrate the use of a science mapping approach to perform the review so that researchers may apply the procedure to the review of a scientific domain of their own interest, and second, to identify major areas of research activities concerning science mapping, intellectual milestones in the development of key specialties, evolutionary stages of major specialties involved, and the dynamics of transitions from one specialty to another. Design/methodology/approach We first introduce a theoretical framework of the evolution of a scientific specialty. Then we demonstrate a generic search strategy that can be used to construct a representative dataset of bibliographic records of a domain of research. Next, progressively synthesized co-citation networks are constructed and visualized to aid visual analytic studies of the domain’s structural and dynamic patterns and trends. Finally, trajectories of citations made by particular types of authors and articles are presented to illustrate the predictive potential of the analytic approach. Findings The evolution of the science mapping research involves the development of a number of interrelated specialties. Four major specialties are discussed in detail in terms of four evolutionary stages: conceptualization, tool construction, application, and codification. Underlying connections between major specialties are also explored. The predictive analysis demonstrates citations trajectories of potentially transformative contributions. Research limitations The systematic review is primarily guided by citation patterns in the dataset retrieved from the literature. The scope of the data is limited by the source of the retrieval, i.e. the Web of Science, and the composite query used. An iterative query refinement is possible if one would like to improve the data quality, although the current approach serves our purpose adequately. More in-depth analyses of each specialty would be more revealing by incorporating additional methods such as citation context analysis and studies of other aspects of scholarly publications. Practical implications The underlying analytic process of science mapping serves many practical needs, notably bibliometric mapping, knowledge domain visualization, and visualization of scientific literature. In order to master such a complex process of science mapping, researchers often need to develop a diverse set of skills and knowledge that may span multiple disciplines. The approach demonstrated in this article provides a generic method for conducting a systematic review. Originality/value Incorporating the evolutionary stages of a specialty into the visual analytic study of a research domain is innovative. It provides a systematic methodology for researchers to achieve a good understanding of how scientific fields evolve, to recognize potentially insightful patterns from visually encoded signs, and to synthesize various information so as to capture the state of the art of the domain.

Abstract:Mapping knowledge domain (MKD) is an important application in bibliometrics, which is a method of visually presenting and explaining newly developed interdisciplinary scientific fields using data mining, information analysis, scientific measurement, and graphic rendering. This study combines applied mathematics, visual analysis technology, information science, and scientometrics to systematically analyze the development status, research distribution, and future trend of the heterogeneous traffic flow by using the MKD software tools VOSviewer and CiteSpace. Based on the MKD and Bibliometrics approaches, 4709 articles have been studied, which were published by Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) and Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI) from 2004 to 2021 in the field of heterogeneous traffic flows. Firstly, this paper presents the annual numbers of articles, origin countries, main research organizations, and groups as well as the source journals on heterogeneous traffic flow studies. Then, cocitation analysis is used to divide heterogeneous traffic flow into three main research directions, which include “heterogeneous traffic flow model,” “traffic flow capacity analysis,” and “traffic flow stability analysis.” The keyword cooccurrence analysis is applied to identify five dominant clusters: “modeling and optimization methods,” “traffic flow characteristics analysis,” “driving behavior analysis,” “simulation experiment,” and “policies and barriers.” Finally, burst keywords were studied according to the publication date to present more clearly the change of research focus and direction over time.

Abstract:The article aims at the introduction to the researches on knowledge visualization abroad and provides references for domestic researchers. Foreign literatures from WOS platform were analyzed by bibliometrical methods and mapping domain knowledge of Citespace and Pajek. It was discovered that the research on knowledge visualization abroad involved many theories and methods in various disciplines. There were three research dimensions including technology realization,psychological cognition and knowledge management. The frontier researches have appeared in recent years involving four subjects: the construction of knowledge bases and knowledge service platforms,the application of knowledge visualization in education,psychological cognition mechanisms in knowledge visualization,knowledge management and decision- making. The application prospect of knowledge visualization in the discipline of library and information science is vast. Domestic researchers should reinforce the study of the cognitive mechanism of knowledge visualization.

Abstract:<p>As a new and important technology in architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC), Building Information Modeling (BIM) has witnessed a decade of rapid development. It is highly necessary to analyze the research progress and development trend of BIM. Based on 1369 relevant literatures published and the core database "Web of Science", this study used co-citation analysis, co-word analysis, and cluster analysis to analyze the data and drew the mapping knowledge domains with Citespace software. The results show that BIM research is still in the rapid growth stage. And BIM research is mainly distributed in nine fields. In terms of time sequence, the development of BIM in the past decade developed from data collection to information integration and to knowledge management. The research hotspots are mainly concentrated in eleven directions, which can be further classified into three levels. This paper will provide valuable theoretical and practical reference for the future research of BIM.</p>

Abstract:Based on a 12-year bibliographic record collected from the Web of Science (Thomson Reuters) database, the present study aims to provide a macroscopic overview of the knowledge domain in financial decision making (FDM). A scientometric and bibliometric analysis was conducted on the literature published in the field from 2010 to 2021, using the CiteSpace software. The analysis focuses on the co-occurring categories, the geographic distributions, the vital references, the distribution of topics, as well as the research fronts and emerging trends of financial related decision making. The steady increase of papers published year by year demonstrated the increasing interest on this topic at the international level. The scientometric analysis of the literature showed that financial decision, investment decision, and financing decision stood out of the crowd of the research on FDM, suggesting their important role in FDM and its research. The results of citation burst analysis predicted the focus of topics, i.e., the impact of individual differences such as financial literacy, gender and age on FDM in the coming years. Different from the traditional approach of literature review, this bibliometric analysis offers a scientometric approach to reveal the status quo and the development trend of FDM by macro and quantitative means. In addition, future research directions for the field are recommended.

Abstract:Smart education is considered an inevitable choice and an important educational trend development in the Information Age. Smart education development can promote learning opportunities to master high-quality education and lifelong learning. It vigorously promotes sustainable development. A bibliometric analysis was performed to better understand smart education research field knowledge structures and help researchers understand smart education research field characteristics. VOSviewer and CiteSpace were used to analyze 2358 Web of Science core collection articles related to smart education. The articles were dated 2000–2021. This study visually presents a systematic overview of smart education literature research, including the publication outputs, main categories, most influential countries, organizations, journals, and authors, important documents, and research academic trends. Using a series of cooperation analyses, this paper looked at research cooperation among countries and regions, organizations, and authors to build a smart education knowledge structure map. A smart education theoretical framework was proposed based on the literature review. A bibliometric analysis of the existing research results provided useful and innovative suggestions for researchers and practitioners in the field of smart education.

Abstract:This paper maps the emerging research fronts and hot domain of electronic commerce based on the citation analysis and co-citation analysis of the research literature in electronic commerce with the tool of Scientometrics -Citespace Ⅱ. The data is downloaded from the Web of Science published between 2000 and 2010. Highly influential authors, research institutes, countries and most cited papers are identified and the process of development of electronic commerce is shown to help e-commerce researchers understand this subject in depth. Finally, we look forward to the future development of electronic commerce.

Abstract:Co-citation analysis mainly includes document co-citation analysis,author co-citation analysis,and jour-nal co-citation analysis.They are frequently-used methods in mapping knowledge domains.As an alternative explora-tion in mapping knowledge domains,this paper expands traditional co-citation methods into Keyword Co-citation Anal-ysis(KCA).The basic steps of KCA include data collection,raw keyword co-citation matrix construction,correlation matrix transformation,and knowledge domain mapping and results interpretation.The results based on network analy-sis and MDS-measurement show that KCA has a good performance in mapping knowledge domains and depicting scien-tific intellectual structures;meanwhile,it has satisfying clustering results.

Abstract:Purpose/Significance] Recently, there has been an increasing trend that the bibliometric studies of domestic competitive intel-ligence tend to use the knowledge map. However, there is still no research aiming at comparing the international studies and domestic stud-ies. [ Method/Process] Using software Citespace, this paper analyzes researches related competitive intelligence at home and abroad with the paper dated from 1998 to 2014 collected from Web of Science database and Chinese Social Science Citation Index ( CSSCI) . The paper compares the related researches from the perspectives of hot research topic, knowledge base and evolution. [ Result/Conclusion] This pa-per concludes three research results by drawing and comparing knowledge maps, and offers valuable reference for the future development of domestic competitive intelligence research.
