Expression of Ezrin in Metastatic Bone Tumor and Its Correlation with CD44V6

Abstract:For investigating the clinical significance of Ezrin in metastatic bone tumor,we studied the expressions of Ezrin and CD44v6,as well as the correlation of between Ezrin expression levels and clinical pathologic characteristics of metastatic bone tumor.The expression of Ezrin and CD44v6 protein were detected in 28 cases of metastatic bone tumor and 12 cases of benign bone tumors by immunohistochemical method,while the expression of Ezrin mRNA was detected by RT PCR.These methods illustrated that the positive expression of Ezrin and CD44v6 protein and Ezrin mRNA in metastatic bone tumor was significantly higher than that in benign bone tumors(P0.05).Furthermore,there was a positive correlation between Ezrin and CD44V6(r=0.053,P0.05).The positive expression of Ezrin mRNA was highly related to the differentiation,but not the genders of patients,original focuses or sites of metastatic bone tumor.The conclusion come to that Ezrin and CD44V6 may participate in the progressions of infiltration and metastasis.Furthermore,Ezrin plays a role in metastatic bone tumor which may require the interaction with cell adhesion molecule CD44V6.Thus he expression of Ezrin may serve as a valuable marker for prognosis of metastatic bone tumor.
