Abstract:In remote sensing inversion, we always empirically assume that the parameter prior distribution is Normal distribution for simplifying the calculation. And now we have validated that the parameter prior distribution of linear kernel-driven model is neither Normal distribution nor Student-t distribution, but the later has better goodness of fit than the former. Furthermore, the Student-t distribution has very good robustness. So, we should attempt to choose Student-t as parameter prior distribution. However, the three-dimensional Student-t distribution density function is so complex that the posterior distribution density function of the MAP (Maximum Afterwards Probability) is unknown, so we can't give any known expression to the parameter estimate. In this paper we try to use the Bayesian Linear Regression (BLR) method to solve the inversion question. Linear kernel-driven model with three-dimensional Student-t prior distribution of parameter solved by BLR method is to treat the prior mean of parameter as additional data points, and then weight their contribution to the posterior. The weights are inversely proportional to the variance of the prior parameter estimates. The test about the inversion of land surface albedo and data fit showed that this inversion with three-dimensional Student-t prior distribution of parameter is success. © 2005 IEEE.
