Abstract:The Rank-order data of Rokeach Value Survey from 3,796 Chinese college students was fitted with the rank-ordered logit model estimation of discrete choice methods.According the results,the most important terminal values preference of college student' were family security,happiness,pleasure,freedom,self-respect,and the most important instrumental values preference were honesty,ability,responsibility,and broadmindedness.The results reflected the comeback of such traditional culture characteristics as emphasis on family values personal qualifies,etc.,and indicated the meaning of social adaptation in the fast development of sociiety economy and culture.The difference in the basic trend of values preference between female and male subjects was not much.Females were more characterized by the era by the era,and males were more traditional.The effect of age on terminal values was more evident than on instrumental values.
