Study on chemical constitutions of Capparis spinosa

Abstract:In order to elucidate active constituents of Capparis spinosa and provide scientific foundation for its medicinal development,a systematic chemical experiments were made on the fruit of Capparis spinosa.Ten compounds were isolated by various chromatographic techniques and their structures were elucidated on the bases of spectroscopic methods.These compounds included: 6-Hydroxy-12-carboxy-blumenolAβ-D-glucopyranoside(I).1H-indole-3-acetonitrile4-O-β-glucopyranoside(Ⅱ),(6S)-Hydroxy-3-oxo-α-ionol(III),3-Indolcarboxaldehyde(IV),adenosine(Ⅴ),Inosine(VI),4-L-rhamnose-benzoic acid(VII),sucrose(VIII),β-sitosterol(IX),daucosterol(X).All compounds were isolated from this plant for the first time.Compound(III) was a new natural product,compound(I) was a new compound.
