Abstract:There are plenty of words expressing different persons in the Japanese language, but they are used in a very lower frequency in actual verbal communication. It is more prevailing that they are omitted or implied when they are used in sentences as subject, object, attribute and complement. This paper begins with the features of the Japanese language, then investigates and analyzes the various expression ways of omitting personal pronouns in the Japanese language.Further, the culture background factors resulting in the phenomena are approached from the angles of cognitive linguistics and social and cultural context.
