Abstract:Objective The SF-36 was used to measure quality of life for patients with ventricular premature contractions during pre- and post-radiofrequency catheter ablating(RFCA) and observe the effects of RFCA on quality of life. Methods SF-36 was written before and after radiofrequency catheter ablation and filled in by 58 patients every time in half an hour. Among 58 cases, ventricular premature contractions originated from right ventricular outflow tract in 51 cases, 5 cases from left ventricular outflow tract and 2 cases from left ventricular inflow tract, which were successfully treated with RFCA .SF-36 measures 8 health-related aspects of quality of life, namely general health(GH), physical functioning, role limitations due to physical problems(RP), role limitations due to emotional problems(RE), social functioning, bodily pain, vitality (energy/fatigue), and mental health .Measuring scales were adopted by standard given marks, and all data was statistically analyzed. Results From one week to one month after radiofrequency catheter ablating, the scores about eight aspects of SF-36 were better than before RFCA(P0.05),and there were no significant difference in above eight aspects between different age ranges .There were statistical significance of the deviation of GH,RP,RE scores between the male and the female after the procedure(P0.05).Conclusions RFCA can safely and effectively improve quality of life for patients with ventricular premature contractions.
