Investigation of Classification Management Model for High-alert Medication

Abstract:OBJECTIVE:To explore effective management of high-alert medication,and to promote the management of medication safety.METHODS:By retrieving from domestic and foreign literatures,the background of high-alert medication and present management situation were introduced,the high-risk factors were analyzed,and the classification management system of high-alert medication was discussed.RESULTS:Our hospital had designed the label for high-alert medication and summarized the risk points.A pyramidal classification management model of high-alert medication had been established initially.In A level,there were the most dangerous drugs,which need to be managed and monitored most,but with less number of varieties;the following degree was regarded as B level,and the lowest risk degree as C level.According to the characteristics,we recommended some management measures,key point and the procedures for different levels.CONCLUSIONS:This system is helpful to improve the medication safety and service of pharmaceutical care.
