Abstract:According to a in-wheel motor driving electric vehicle assemblied with double wishbone suspension with torsion bar, the mathematic model of suspension is built, in which the structure features, the dimensions and the gestures of the bars, the springs and the dampers are considered. With the mathematic model of the suspension, the 1/4 vehicle model is also built. Based on this model, the structural nonlinearity is researched, and the vehicle performances especially vertical performances are discussed considering the structural nonlinearity. This research method brings the suspension damping and stiffness match into nonlinear field, which advances the deactive suspension development theory.

Abstract:The torque vibration derived from in-wheel-motor transmitted to body frame through suspension system without the absorption of mechanical transmission parts, then excited every body panel to shape the vehicle interior noise, which influenced the quality of the vehicle NVH. This paper aims to build an accurate suspension system simulation model to analyze the influence of suspension parts parameters to system vibration transmission property. Basis on a novel empirical model of rubber bushing, a multi-rigid suspension model and a multi-flexible suspension model had been established respectively. The vibration characteristics of two models were simulated, furthermore the swept-sine exciting vertical force signal on wheel contact point were input on the simulation models to find the difference between rigid and flexible model. The simulation results show that: the multi-flexible model can reflect the vibration characteristics of the suspension system more accurately in the high frequency range and so is it more applicable to the simulation analysis of vibration characteristics of in-wheel-motor electric vehicle suspension system.

Abstract:The suspension system is an important part of a vehicle and directly affects the vehicle's comfort and stability during driving. There are various nonlinearities and uncertainties in the vehicle suspension system, and even small changes can have a significant impact on the suspension performance. This paper provides an in-depth study of quarter- and half-vehicle suspensions modeled with nonlinear springs and dampers, considering the stochastic uncertainty of various parameters. A mathematical model of a nonlinear vehicle suspension was developed to more accurately simulate the increased stiffness of suspension springs with travel and the energy consumption of dampers. The sparse grid-based polynomial chaos expansion is employed to construct the metamodels of the system response in both the frequency and time domains. This approach effectively captures the stochastic characteristics of the system response, reducing computational cost while improving accuracy. Based on polynomial metamodels, various performance indicators of the nonlinear suspension were analyzed, including statistical moments, probability distributions, and parameter sensitivities. The results are then compared and discussed, revealing that uncertainties in the nonlinear spring, sprung mass, and tire stiffness significantly impact the frequency response, time response, ride comfort, and safety. These findings contribute to a deeper understanding of the dynamic characteristics and behaviors of nonlinear vehicle suspensions under complex parameter uncertainties and provide a reference for enhancing suspension performance.

The results show: The multi-flexible suspension model with new empirical rubber bushing model hasn't notable influence to inherent frequency. However, it can reflect more peak values of frequency response functions and the transmissibility at every peak frequency are higher than the original multi-flexible suspension model.

Abstract:The dynamic performance of traditional nonlinear spring suspension,nonlinear suspension and semi-active suspension is studied.On the basis of establishing their dynamic equations,their simulation is accomplished by using MATLAB/SIMULINK and their simulation model is presented.Among other things,nonlinear spring suspension is analyzed by the small parameter perturbation method.Numerical simulation results indicates that an appropriate nonlinear spring model suits reality better than a linear one.Compared with the other two,semi-active suspension that uses relative control can provide the best ride comfort.

Abstract:We develop a comprehensive nonlinear model of a vehicle suspension system which can be used to study control algorithms for active suspension systems. This model is derived using standard kinematics and kinetics and takes into consideration several factors that are neglected in most existing models. Extensive computer simulations were performed using several road profiles and the results show that the proposed model coupled with appropriate control algorithms can result in improved vehicle performance when compared to the commonly used models. The model presented is being used to develop a nonlinear fuzzy-sliding-neural controller.

Abstract:In this paper, the nonlinear suspension mathematical model obtained from the actually measured data. of a car is applied to simulate the nonlinear spring force and damping force of vehicle suspension system. A dynamic equation of quarter suspension system with one d.o.f is derived. The theories of nonlinear dynamics are applied to study the nonlinear model and to reveal its nonlinear vibration characteristics. The bifurcation behavior is analyzed by using central manifold theorem. The response under road stochastic excitation is obtained by computer simulation. Through the methods of phase trajectory; Poincare map; time history, power spectrum diagram and Lyapunov exponent. it is revealed that the chaos occurred in the nonlinear suspension system. Furthermore, the speed feedback controller is applied to control the chaos motion of the suspension system. This method is proved to be valid and feasible by numerical simulation.

Abstract:In this paper, the natural vibration characteristics of a hybrid vehicle powertrain are simulated. The nonlinear dynamic model is proposed by using the lumped parameter method, and the dynamic response characteristics of the powertrain with a wide range change of engine speed and torque are studied. The conclusions provide the basis for the system design and control strategies constituting of hybrid vehicle powertrain.

Abstract:Using the nonlinear suspension model based on measured data of a vehicle,the nonlinear spring load and damping force in vehicle suspension are analyzed and the chaotic movement of the nonlinear suspension system is studied.A simulation is conducted under the excitations of sine,quasi-periodical and random roads re- spectively,and the system responses are obtained.Based on these,the phase trace,Poincare section,time history, power spectrum plot and Lyapunov exponent curve of the system under different excitations are analyzed.The results reveal that the chaos phenomena occur in nonlinear suspension system.

Abstract:Based on the hydro-pneumatic suspension system of certain engineering vehicle,the mathematic models of hydro-pneumatic suspension and tire containing nonlinear stiffness and damping were determined.Based on the virtual displacement principle,analytical expression of the relationship between restoring force of hydro-pneumatic suspension and that of tire was derived.By combining with actual condition of the engineering,based on FEM dynamics method and by using the connecting units to simulate the nonlinear stiffness and damping characteristics,a nonlinear suspension system dynamic model of hydro-pneumatic suspension coupled with tire was established.The hydro-pneumatic suspension system characteristics were revealed by applying sinusoidal load,impact load and step load.This method provides reference for similar suspension system dynamic modeling and its result can be used to suspension and vehicle system dynamics study.

Abstract:Based on an analysis of nonlinear spring forces and damping forces for automotive suspension and tire,a nonlinear dynamic model of automobile heave vibration system with two degress of freedom(DOF) was built.Then,an incremental harmonic balance method(IHBM) was adopted to quantitatively study the system.The process of IHBM was derived,and the iterative process was studied.Meanwhile,the steady periodic solution of automobile nonlinear system was obtained with some harmonic numbers and stability of the periodic solution was studied as well.Based on the tracing calculation with the circular frequency of road excitation as parameter,the amplitude-frequency response characteristic of the system at the primary resonance was obtained.The numerical simulation of the approximate periodic solution by the IHBM was compared with the numerical method.Results show that the IHBM is an effective way to analyze both weak and strong nonlinear dynamics in engineering practice.

Abstract:Based on automobile suspension vibration mechanical model and kinematic equation,evaluation indexes for the suspension performance are analyzed and ideutified and improved suspension testing method is proposed develop the automobile suspension performance test system with virtual instrument technology combined with PC-DAQ scheme.On the traditional automobile suspension prompting test table,some necessary sensors are added as well as personal computer and the virtual software to make the vibration test system capable of measuring the vibration absorption efficiency,the vibration efficiency,the swing and the vibration wave shape and so on.It also provides the gist integrated evaluation and diagnosis of the suspensions system.Practical car test proved that the theoretical model is credible and feasible and the testing system is accurate and reliable.

Abstract:Based on the theory of the concentrated parameter, a three-dimensional dynamic model with 12 degrees of freedom for the spiral bevel and hypoid gears transmission system is developed, in which the flexional, torsional, axial and rotational motions are considered. The elastic deformation of the transmission shaft and the bearing, the drive of the mess toughness, error and mess impact are considered in the model. On the foundation of neglecting the rotational vibration, the transmission system is dealt with a model with 8 degrees of freedom and analyzed using the 5-steps Runge-Kutta. numerical integral method of auto adapted varied steps. The dynamic response is received and the dynamic behavior of the transmission system is analyzed.

Abstract:In order to explore the applicability of the electromechanical coupling method for the investigation of motor vehicle power transmission system,a mechanical vibration model of electric vehicle power train was simplified into two degree freedom model.Its inherent characteristics and responses were analyzed in conditions of free left end border,left linear torsion spring and nonlinear torsion spring.Results show that dynamic characteristics of the electromechanical coupling system simulated by torsion spring changed significantly compare with the traditional system.It is proved that using electromechanical coupling nonlinear vibration study for motor driven vehicle power system is feasible.

Abstract:This paper studies the phenomenon of internal resonance in high-speed vehicle system under high frequency periodic excitations. A numerical model of the vehicle system, taking into consideration the dynamic effects of the primary suspension system and the flexibility of the car-body, is established for the study. An approximate approach incorporating the incremental harmonic balance method with frequency response function is adopted to solve the dynamic responses of the vehicle system in frequency domain. Numerical results show that internal resonance vibration in the vehicle system may occur with certain combinations of design parameters of the vehicle system. The vibration of the car-body and the primary suspension system are significantly amplified with energy transmitted between the natural modes of the car-body and the primary suspension system. Parametric studies on the internal resonance are further explored. Results show that the nonlinearity of the primary suspension spring and the modal damping ratio of the vehicle system play very important roles to the occurrence of internal resonance.

Abstract:Based on the dynamics of gear system and theory of nonlinear vibration,considering characteristics of the gear backlash and time-varying mesh stiffness in gear transmission system of tracked vehicle,the nonlinear vibration model of single degree of freedom gear system is developed.The nonlinear vibration characteristics on condition of different shift process are analyzed by using numerical simulation method,and studied in some variable parameters.The conclusions have indicated the dynamics performance and given powerful evidence for the more multiple degrees of freedom nonlinear vibration studying in the gear transmission system.

Abstract:Considering the effects of time-varying meshing stiffness, time-varying support stiffness, transmission errors, tooth side clearance and bearing clearance, a nonlinear dynamics model of the coupled gear-rotor-bearing transmission system of a new energy vehicle is constructed. Firstly, the fourth-order Runge–Kutta integral method is used to solve the differential equations of the system dynamics, and the time-varying meshing force diagram, time history diagram, phase diagram, FFT spectrum diagram, Poincaré map and bifurcation diagram of the system are obtained to study the influence of the external load excitation frequency on the dynamics characteristics of the system. In addition, the multiscale method is used to analyze the main resonance characteristics of the system and to determine the main resonance stability conditions of the system. The effect of time lag control parameters and external load excitation frequency on the main resonance of the system is analyzed by numerical methods. The results show that the gear-rotor-bearing coupled transmission system of the new energy vehicle has obviously nonlinear characteristics, avoiding the system instability interval reasonable selection of external load excitation frequency, meshing damping, time lag parameters and load fluctuations, which can be used to improve the stability of the transmission system of the new energy vehicle.

Abstract:In this paper, the dynamic performance of vehicle suspensions having a non-linear variable stiffness spring instead of conventional one is studied. The effectiveness of the small parameter perturbation method by which responses of the non-linear system are analyzed is discussed, and also the theoretical predictions produced by the perturbation technique are compared with numerical results obtained by computer simulations. It is demonstrated through the comparison that an approximately analytic solution after using the small parameter perturbation method under periodical excitation can be obtained. The present research also provides a useful method for the design of the non-linear suspension system.
