Expressions and the clinical significances of KAI1 and E-cadherin in breast invasive lobular carcinoma

Abstract:Objective To detect the expressions of KAI1 and E-cadherin in breast invasive lobular carcinoma and explore their clinic-pathological significances.Methods The immunohistochemical PV-9000 staining technique was used to detect the expressions of Kang Ai 1(KAI1) and E-cadherin in 66 cases of breast invasive lobular carcinoma and 30 cases of benign lesions.Results The expressions of KAI1 and E-cadherin were significantly different between breast lobular carcinoma and benign lesions(P<0.05).The expression of KAI1 in breast invasive lobular carcinoma was correlated with age and histological grading(P<0.05).The expression of E-cadherin in breast invasive lobular carcinoma had correlation with histological grading(P<0.05),but both KAI1 and E-cadherin were not correlated with other clinic-pathological factors such as clinical staging and lymph node metastasis(P>0.05).Conclusion The positive expressions of KAI1 and E-cadherin in breast carcinoma is significantly lower than those in benign lesions.The expressions of KAI1 and E-cadherin in ILC are related with histological grading.
