Abstract:Objective To study the effect of early nasal endotracheal intubation on pulmonary infection and stay time of patients with cerebral hemorrhage due to hypertension in ICU after minimally invasive surgery. Methods Fifty-eight patients diagnosed as cerebral hemorrhage due to hypertension in our department were randomly divided into control group and treatment group according to their GCS scores. Patients in the treatment group underwent early nasal endotracheal intubation and had oxygen inhalation through the nose. Patients in the control group had oxygen inhalation through a nasal tube or face mask. Pneumonia and its complication and stay time in ICU were observed 72h after minimally invasive surgery for cerebral hemorrhage and analyzed by Fisher test and t-test. Results The incidence rate of pneumonia was 21.4% in treatment group after early nasal endotracheal intubation and 35.7% in control group, while it was 60% in treatment group 72h after minimally invasive surgery and 80% in the control group (P0.05). However, the stay time of patients in the treatment group in ICU was obviously shorter than that of those in the control group (P0.01). Conclusion Early nasal endotracheal intubation can alleviate the pulmonary complications, shorten the stay time in ICU, lessen the cost and promote the recovery of patients with cerebral hemorrhage due to hypertension after minimally invasive surgery.
