Abstract:In recent years,the incidence of coronary artery disease in China has tended to increase.Early screening of patients with coronary artery disease may lead to the appropriate therapeutic intervention and reduce the incidence of serious adverse cardiac events.Nowadays,the common diagnostic imaging methods include invasive coronary angiography,echocardiography,multi-slice spiral CT,radionuclide imaging and magnetic resonance imaging.With the rapid development of CT imaging technology,in addition to coronary angiography,dual-source CT can conduct stress myocardial perfusion imaging.This "one-stop" examination can obtain coronary anatomical features and myocardial hemodynamic change at the same time,which provides the basis for proper clinical intervention.The research progress of clinical application of dual-source CT myocardial perfusion imaging is reviewed in this paper.

Abstract:Aortic dissection is a life-threatening emergency disease, which needs immediate and effective clinical interventions. In recent years, owing to the widespread use of multidetector computed tomography, the rate of diagnosis of aortic dissection has significantly improved. As a convenient and noninvasive examination, multidetector computed tomography angiography has been used widely in the preoperative diagnosis of aortic dissection and postoperative follow-up. Improving CT scan protocols and powerful post-processing function make the diagnosis of aortic dissection more accurate and provide adequate evidences for clinical treatments. This review summarized the recent application and research progress of multidetector computed tomography angiography in the diagnosis of aortic dissection and its future perspective.

Abstract:Combined retrospectively electrocardiographically(ECG)-gated image reconstruction with multislice spiral CT(MSCT)coronary reconstruction,optimal tomographic images can be screened from those multi-phase window of coronary artery(CA)images.Reconstructed by related software,3-dimensional reconstructions of CA images were performed.This method have some particular superiority in diagnosis of coronary artery disease(CAD),in evaluation of effects after intracoronary stent implantation and coronary artery bypass graft(CABG).The mini-invasion,low-risk and high-differentiation of MSCT make it have abroad clinical application in coronary angiography.

Abstract:Multislice computed tomography (MSCT) has been evolving rapidly in terms of both equipment and technology. The performance of non-invasive MSCT coronary angiography has been widely approved for use in coronary artery stenosis diagnosis, plaque quantitative and qualitative assessment, the patency of stents or bypass grafts determination. Compared to conventional selective coronary angiography, as a non invasive and cheaper coronary angiography, MSCT has the advantage of imaging plaque compositions.

Abstract:Coronary artery disease (CAD) is one of the most common diseases that accounts for a considerable part of health.Early diagnosis of CAD is important before the presence of clinical symptoms.Though the gold standard for direct diagnostic imaging of CAD is still conventional X-ray coronary angiography,several other applications of noninvasive techniques have potentiality to substitute it.Thus,noninvasive diagnosis of CAD is important to medical care today.The recent generation of multislice computed tomography scanners (MSCT) permit high-resolution imaging of the beating heart and the coronary arteries.MSCT permits direct visualization of not only coronary artery stenosis but also atherosclerotic plaques in patients with coronary artery disease.Image artifacts due to rapid motion,especially in the distal segments of the right and circumflex coronary arteries,may limit the application of MSCT.With sufficient evaluation of cardiac artery vessels,MSCT lumenography permits visualization of significant coronary stenosis with a sensitivity and specificity of about 90%.Technical advances in recent years and improvements in image quality in MSCT brought along an increasing interest in the potential clinical role of noninvasive computed tomographic coronary angiography (CTCA).On the other hand,MSCT permits reliable estimation of coronary calcification and quantification of overall coronary plaque burden and thereby allows risk assessment to predict the individual cardiovascular risk.Diagnostic accuracy may be enhanced by combining assessment of calcified plaque burden and contrast imaging.Generally,MSCT is developing rapidly as a noninvasive method for assessing CAD,and is a prospective method in diagnosing CAD in future.

Abstract:Objective To determine the optimal scan parameters and reconstruction methods and to demonstrate the possibilities and limitations of multi slice CT for contrast enhanced investigation of the coronary arteries. Methods A multi slice CT system with 4 simultaneously acquired slices and 0.5 sec rotation time was used (Siemens Somatom plus 4 Volume Zoom). Five 3D methods (VR, MIP, MPR, SSD, and CTVE) were used. A total of 68 patients underwent cardiac CT. In 25 patients with known or suspected CAD, CT was compared with quantitative coronary angiography. Results 90% of the coronary arteries could be visualized over long segments. On average, 2/3 of the main coronary arteries length could be visualized free of motion artifacts. Multi slice CT coronary angiography showed a high diagnostic accuracy in the detection and quantification of coronary lesion, and the sensitivity was 87.5%. VR was the best 3D reconstruction method for visualizing coronary artery. Conclusion This cardiac imaging method was simple, reliable, non invasive, low risk, comfortable, and non expensive. It has the potential to rule out CAD, permitting the evaluation of pre and post operative cardiovascular situation, coronary artery calcification screening and so on.

Abstract:Objective:To study the clinical application of multi-slice spiral CT in Eight-three patients.Methods:Coronary artery of eight three patients were examined by 16-slice spiral CT,20 of them underwent selection coronary artery angiogsaphy.Results:The main branches and part of the sub-branches of the coronary artery in 80 patients were clearly displayed,22 of them had normal coronary artery,55 cases had coronary artery stenosis due to plaques,1 case was demonstrated to have abnormal original and grow.9 cases were re-examination after PTCA and CABG.Conclusions:As a noninvasive examination,multi-slice spiral CT is a valuable method in detection and diagnosis the diseases of coronary artery.

Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical value of multi-slice spiral CT pulmonary angiography ( MSCTPA) in the diagnosis of pulmonary vascular diseases. Method The imaging manifestations of MSCTPA in 48 cases with pulmonary vascular diseases proved by pathology or DSA were analyzed retrospectively. The image post-processing included VR,thin-MIP,MPR,MIP,CPR and CTVE. Results All patients were accurately diagnosed based on the images of two and three-dimensional (2D and 3D) reconstruction. There were 43 cases with pulmonary artery embolism,4 cases with pulmonary arteriovenous fistula (PAVM),and 1 case with pulm-onary sequestration. Conclusion The combined application of MSCTPA with 2D and 3D reconstruction can dis-play the lesions comprehensively and directly,showing a great significance for the clinical diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary vascular diseases. It can replace the invasive DSA.

Abstract:Coronary artery disease (CAD) is one of the leading causes of death and disability in the developing world. Invasive coronary angiography is considered the golden standard of diagnosis for CAD. As invasive procedures have an associated mortality (0.15%) and morbidity (1.5%), cardiologists desired to find accurate noninvasive diagnostic tests. More recently, cardiac MDCT has gained popularity for the detection and quantification of coronary artery disease. Cardiac MDCT is the fastest growing noninvasive diagnostic cardiac imaging modality in the China, with dedicated cardiovascular systems available now in most large hospital and outpatient cardiology practices. In addition to coronary angiography, MDCT is commonly utilized for 3-dimensional planning of electrophysiological and surgical procedures, such as radio-frequency ablation, redo-myocardial revascularization and aortic aneurysm and dissection repair. In our paper we will review the current and developing clinical applications in CAD of cardiac MDCT.

Abstract:The development of the imaging technology enables diagnostic methods of detect intracranial aneurysms diversified. In recent years, the diagnosis of aneurysms was confirmed by digital subtraction angiography (DSA) which was regarded as the "gold standards". However, CT angiography (CTA), which appears as a fast, non-invasive, and easily achievable examination, is becoming as a new option in clinic. With the development of the CT facility and upgrade of the workstation software, CTA is more widely used in both diagnosing and treating intracranial aneurysm. This article reviews the sensitivity and specificity of CTA in the detection of intracranial aneurysms, and systematically analyzes its advantages and disadvantages as well as its development, imaging methods.

Abstract:Simultaneous PET/MR imaging is a novel multimodality imaging approach that can assess disease activity together with assessment of cardiac anatomy, function, and tissue composition during a single scan. Cardiac PET/MR imaging has the potential in the diagnosis and assessment of myocardial ischemia, viability, inflammation, cardiac sarcoidosis, cardiac amyloidosis, cardiac tumors and atherosclerotic plaque imaging. This review summarizes the most promising applications of PET/MR in the cardiovascular field. The combination of various radiotracers and multi-parametric imaging with PET/MR will have a bright future in the research of cardiovascular diseases.

Abstract:Coronary artery disease (CAD) as a common chronic disease, acute myocardial infarction (AMI) is one of the most urgent manifestations of CAD which had a highly mortality. Coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA) combined with post-processing technique was the best way to diagnosis CAD in routine examination. By various postprocessing techniques, such as Volume rendering (VR), Curved planar reformations (CPR) techniques can speed up the complicated processing of CCTA and improve the diagnostic accuracy of radiologists.

Abstract:Purpose of review: Multidetector computed tomography has been growing in every way possible. The test is becoming more common in clinical practice. It has breached the public consciousness and is being asked for by name. Research in the field is accelerating. The technology is improving, as is our skill at interpretation. There have been hundreds of publications on the subject over the past year. We will address three of the most important recent areas of focus. Recent findings: Multidetector computed tomography has been touted as a possible 'triple rule-out' for myocardial infarction, pulmonary embolus, and aortic dissection, with an eye to improving emergency department efficiency and efficacy. A recent study has shown that, at least in low-risk patients, the triple rule-out is as safe as standard of care diagnosis, and saves considerable time and expense. Calcium scoring, hotly debated for years, has received approval from both the American Heart Association and American College of Cardiology as a screening test under certain circumstances. The 64-detector scanner has shown improvement over the 16-detector scanner. Summary: These developments indicate that multidetector computed tomography has more uses than previously realized. They also indicate that we have much more work to do before we can claim to have fully utilized this technology.

Abstract:Objective:The aim of this investigation was to evaluate the clinical significance of coronary angiography with multi-slice spiral CT(MSCTA) in coronary disease.Method:Plain and enhanced sixteen-slice spiral CT was performed in 108 male elderly patients. Coronary artery calcium scores and stenosis were demonstrated. All patients also underwent rest and exercise single photon emission computerized tomography(SPECT) and selective coronary angiography(SCA). The findings demonstrated on MSCTA and SPECT were compared and analyzed statistically with those seen on SCA which was considered as the gold standard.Result:The sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value and accuracy for detecting coronary heart disease by MSCTA were 77%,72%, 88%, 54% and 76%,respectively. The sensitivity by MSCTA for detection of 1-, 2- and 3-vessel coronary heart disease was 61%, 90%, and 99%, respectively. MSCTA combined with SPECT, the sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value and negative predictive value for detecting coronary heart disease increased up to 99%, 93%, 96%, and 94%, respectively. Coronary artery calcium scores were increasing with more risk factors and severity of coronary arteries. The calcium score≥200 in ≥65 years male patients might have much more clinical significance.Conclusion :Detection of coronary calcium scores and stenoses by MSCTA is a valuable method in assessment of coronary heart disease. Combined with SPECT, the reliability will be greatly increased, which can be used as non-invasive screening methods for coronary disease before performing invasive coronary angiography.

Abstract:Since Hounsfield invented CT in 1972, CT's contributed enormously to diagnose and cure different diseases. Since the advent of the multi-slice spiral CT, its technology is being steadily improved. CT detector width, time resolution, organization resolved rate and spectral imaging technology has improved continuously, it accelerated develop to the most important methods of noninvasive examination of the heart. Especially during the"post-64 row CT" era, sice 320-slice CT, Brilliance iCT, dual-source CT, Gemstone CT begin to come out, CT equipment and technology have been rapidly developed. CT in the evaluation of coronary morphology of atherosclerotic plaque and coronary artery calcification load points has now been confirmed. And also complete myocardial perfusion in one station. The paper reviews the research of CT myocardial perfusion.

Abstract:Objective To evaluate the application of multi-slice computed tomographic coronary angiography in diagnosis of chronic total occlusion (CTO) of coronary artery.Methods Six hundred and thirty eight patients were diagnosed as CTO disease with coronary angiography (CAG) from June 2011 to December 2012 in Zhongshan Hospital;236 of them received multi-slice computed tomographic coronary angiography in 60 days before.Results In total 708 vessels of the 236 patients,244 vessels were proved totally occluded,128 (52.5％) of which were located in left anterior descending artery,31 (12.7％) were located in left circumflex coronary artery and 85 (34.8％) located in right coronary artery.Multi-slice computed tomographic coronary angiography was superior to CAG in judgment of stump anatomy (64.3％ vs.52.5％,F =7.09,P =0.010),plaque calcification (40.2％ vs.26.2％,F =10.68,P =0.001) and distal vessel interpretability (93.9％ vs.74.6％,F =34.06,P ＜ 0.001).There was no significant difference in judging side branch,tortuosity and lesion length between multi-slice computed tomographic coronary angiography and CAG (all P ＞ 0.05).Conclusion Multi-slice computed tomographic coronary angiography provides more detailed anatomy information of CTO lesions and is of value in diagnosis and treatment of CTO lesions.

Abstract:Objective To investigate the ability of electrocardiogram-gated multislice CT(MSCT)in the diagnosis of myocardial bfidging.Methods Fifty-one patients(82 coronary arteries)with suspected coronary artery disease underwent multi-detector row CT,conventional coronary angiography and intravascular ultrasonography as well.The sensitivity,specificity and accuracy of MSCT for the detection of myocardial bridging were determined.The interobserver agreement was calculated by using Cohen's Kappa test.Results A total of 26 tunneled arteries exclusively located near the middle segment of left anterior descending coronary artery were found by coronary angiography and intravascular uhrasonography.Compared to the invasive methods,MSCT correctly detected 23 of 26 myocardial bridges with a sensitivity of 88%(23/26),specificity of 96%(52/54)and accuracy of 94%(75/80).The Kappa value for overall interobserver variation Was 0.62.Two myocardial bridges diagnosed by MSCT were missed with the invasive method.With the results of invasive and non-invasive methods combined as the standard of reference,the overall sensitivity.specificity,and accuracy of MSCT in detecting myocardial bridging were 89%(25/28),91%(21/23),and 90%(46/51),respectively.Conclusion As a non-invasive imaging modality,MSCT is feasible and reliable in the detection of myocardial bridging.
