Abstract:Metabonomics which developed in the mid-1990s is a new science.It studies all metabolic intermediates and end products in cells and organisms.The main object of study is small molecules whose molecular weight below 1 000Da.Metabonomics uses the method which the quantitative analysis and the qualitative analysis unify to study metabolic transit of the biological system and reveal the mutual relations of the small molecule compounds with toxicity,disease,regular patterns of life activities.In this paper,we made an overview of metabonomics and summarized its application in forensic toxicology,which provided reference for related research and applications.
