Effect of Maize Intercropping Alfalfa on Nutrients Loss of Loess Slope Land

Abstract:Based on the twenty-four runoff plots built on sloping lands on loss plateau north of Wei-he,the nutrient content of sediments under four difference conditions,namely alfalfa intercropping of corn,corn monoculture,alfalfa monoculture and bare soil after rainfall,were measured.The results showed that the sequence of the loss of the soil total nitrogen,phosphorus and organic was the bare land〉maize monoculture〉corn alfalfa〉alfalfa monoculture;the total nitrogen,phosphorus and organic matter loss increased with the increase of corn bandwidth;the amount of available potassium,available phosphorus,nitrate,ammonium Nitrogen loss increased with the increase of slope;the losses of soil potassium,phosphorus,nitrate,ammonium nitrogen for alfalfa intercropping of corn were less than maize monoculture and bare land,but more than alfalfa monoculture.
