Abstract:Reference evapotranspiration (ET0) is an important part of the water and energy cycles during crop growth. The study of its changing trend is of significance for guiding efficient water utilization and reasonable regulation of agricultural production. Based on daily meteorological data, including temperature, relative humidity, wind speed and sunshine hours, from 38 surface meteorological stations in Shandong Province from 1980 to 2019, the FAO56 Penman–Monteith formula was used to calculate the ET0 and analyse trend and influencing factors, combined with the methods of climate tendency rate, Morlet wavelet, sensitivity analysis and contribution rate analysis. ET0 had 26–30 main oscillation cycles during the 1980–2019 period, and 28‐, 18‐ and 8‐year time scales corresponded to the first, second and third main cycles of ET0, respectively, which determined the characteristics of ET0 change in the past 40 years. The annual average ET0 was significantly positively correlated with average temperature (T), wind speed (WS) and sunshine daily hours (SSD) and significantly negatively correlated with average relative humidity (RH), among which WS, SSD and RH were the main factors affecting ET0. On this basis, because T was not the dominant factor affecting ET0 change, a simplified ET0 calculation algorithm based on seasonal temperature was established that had high goodness of fit R2 accuracy. This study quantitatively analysed the periodic changes and causes of ET0 from a spatio‐temporal view and provided a scientific basis for the rational regulation of agricultural production in Shandong Province. Résumé L'évapotranspiration de référence (ET0) est une partie importante du cycle de l'eau et du cycle énergétique pendant la croissance agricole. L'étude de son évolution est importante pour guider l'utilisation efficace de l'eau et le règlement raisonnable de la production agricole. Sur la base des données météorologiques quotidiennes, notamment la température, l'humidité relative, la vitesse du vent et les heures d'ensoleillement, provenant de 38 stations météorologiques de surface de la province de Shandong de 1980 à 2019, la formule FAO56 Penman–Monteith a été utilisée pour calculer l'ET0 et analyser les facteurs de tendance et d'influence, combinée aux méthodes du taux de tendance climatique, de la vaguelette de Morlet, de l'analyse de sensibilité et de l'analyse du taux de contribution. L'ET0 a connu 26 à 30 cycles d'oscillation principaux au cours de l'évolution 1980–2019, et les échelles de temps 28, 18 et 8 années correspondaient respectivement aux premier, deuxième et troisième cycles principaux de l'ET0, ce qui a permis de déterminer les caractéristiques du changement de l'ET0 au cours des 40 dernières années. La moyenne annuelle de l'ET0 était significativement corrélée positivement avec la température moyenne (T), la vitesse du vent (WS) et les heures d'ensoleillement quotidiennes (SSD) et significativement corrélée négativement avec l'humidité relative moyenne (RH), parmi lesquelles WS, SSD et RH étaient les principaux facteurs affectant l'ET0. Sur cette base, étant donné que T n'était pas le facteur dominant affectant le changement de l'ET0, un algorithme simplifié de calcul de l'ET0 basé sur la température saisonnière a été établi, avec une précision R2 élevée. Cette étude a analysé de manière quantitative les changements périodiques et les causes de l'ET0 d'un point de vue spatio‐temporel et a fourni une base scientifique pour le règlement rationnel de la production agricole dans la province de Shandong.
