Abstract:The main mol-ecule of the title solvate, C(33)H(30)N(2)O(10)·CH(3)OH, is a new anti-tumor agent, which shows cytotoxicity against MDR cancer cell lines. It has been synthesized by coupling 4β-amino-podophyllotoxin with (5-meth-oxy-1H-indol-3-yl)glyoxyl chloride and structurally characterized. There are two crystallographically independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit, which differ in the dihedral angles between the aromatic rings. The dihedral angles between the benzene ring of the benzo[d][1,3]dioxole and the benzene ring of the 5-meth-oxy-1H-indole are 85.08 (3) and 76.88 (3)° and reflect the main conformational difference between the two independent mol-ecules. The asymmetric unit is completed with two methanol solvent mol-ecules, one of which is disordered over two positions, with occupancies close to 0.5.

Abstract:The title compound, C24H32O8S center dot C3H6O, features three six-membered and two five-membered rings. The six-membered rings adopt chair, boat and slightly distorted boat conformations whereas one five-membered ring adopts an approximate envelope conformation and the other a twist conformation. Disorder was modelled for the ethylthio group with the ethyl-C atoms resolved over three positions with occupancies of 0.58 (4), 0.23 (4) and 0.19 (3). In the crystal, an O-H center dot center dot center dot O hydrogen bond links the molecules into chains.

Abstract:The title compound (C31H33NO6, M-r = 515.58) was synthesized by the reaction of N-diphenylmethylidene aniline and ethyl diazoacetate. Its crystal belongs to the orthorhombic system, space group Pbca, with a = 11.746(1), b = 17.179(1), c = 27.792(2) Angstrom, V = 5608.0(7) Angstrom(3), Z = 8, D-c = 1.221 g/cm(3), F(000) = 2192, mu = 0.084 mm(-1), lambda(MoK alpha) = 0.71073 Angstrom. Refinement with 343 parameters and 3071 independent reflections with I>2 sigma(I) gave R = 0.087 and wR = 0.22. In the title compound, the pyrrolidine ring system is in an envelope conformation with the atoms C (1), N(1), C(3) and C(4) in common plane and the atom C(2) lying 0.622(3) Angstrom out of this plane. The ethoxycarbonyl groups on the atoms C(1) and C(3) are in the same side of the pyrrolidine ring while the ethoxycarbonyl group on the atom C(2) and the phenyl group on the atom N(1) are in the other side.

Abstract:The title compound 2-(2-chloro-4-nitrophenyl)-4-(4-chlorophenyl)-3a,4- diethoxy-, 2,3,3a, 4-tetrahydrochromeno[3,4-d][1,2,3]diazaphosphole 2 (C29H30Cl2N3O7P, Mr = 633.44) was synthesized and its structure was characterized by IR, MS, H-1 NMR, C-13 NMR, (31)p NMR, elemental analysis and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. It crystallizes in triclinic, space group P (1) over bar, a = 9.1549(3), b = 10.7168(4), c = 17.6272(6) angstrom, alpha = 102.9363(12), beta = 90.2713(9), gamma = 117.4265(10)degrees, V = 1484.41(9) angstrom, Z = 2,mu(MoK alpha) = 0.323, F(000) = 658, Z = 2, D-c = 1.417 g/cm(3), the final R = 0.0687 and wR = 0.2066 for 4943 observed reflections (I > 2 sigma(I)). X-ray analysis reveals that the diazaphospholine ring is almost planar and the two ethoxy groups bonded on the 3a- and 4-positions are in trans configurations. Its antiproliferative activity was also tested in vitro against four human tumor cell lines.

Abstract:The synthesis of optically active [N-tosyl-(R)-prolyloxy]-2(S)-[4-cyano-8,8-ethylenedioxy-5-oxo-5,6,7,8-tetrahydroindolizin-3-yl] acetate (4a), a key intermediate for the total asymmetric synthesis of 20(S)-camptothecin anticancer drugs, is described. Within the steroid skeleton of the mol-ecule, three six-membered rings exhibit a chair conformation, while the five -membered ring adopts an envelope conformation. The two pyranosyl rings also adopt chair conformations. The mol-ecules are held together by an extensive O-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding network.

Abstract:The preparation and molecular and crystal structures of the title compound are reported. The compound crystallizes in the triclinic space group P1 (No. 2) with unit cell dimensions of a = 7.2493(3) Å, b = 8.9287(4) Å, c = 10.6594(4) Å, α = 90.419(3)°, β = 91.287(3)°, γ = 103.153(3)°, V = 671.62(5) Å 3 , and Z = 2. The molecular structure of the title compound consists of three sections, the glycine chain and the two 2,5-dioxopyrrolidin-1-ylmethyl groups. Every molecule is linked with three adjacent molecules through three hydrogen-bonding patterns which are 8-membered or 20-membered rings. The chain of rings appears periodically, which makes the molecule form a layer structure in the crystal.
