Necessities and Measures of Carrying out Ecological Environment Education in Ethnic Universities and Colleges

Abstract:Ecological environment education in higher learning institutions of China is lagging behind,and this problem is even more serious in ethnic minority universities and colleges.Therefore,it is necessary to carry out ecological environment education in ethnic universities.Enhancing environmental consciousness can not only upgrade scientific and cultural qualities of the whole nation,but also boost economic development and social progress.Based on the above analysis,the following suggestions are proposed for ethnic universities to carry out ecological environment education: First,the building of teaching body should be strengthened and teachers should be encouraged to combine scientific research with ecological environment education in ethnic regions.Secondly,ecological environment education should be integrated into academic disciplinary education.Thirdly,curriculum reform should be carried out to adopt different teaching methods for students of different majors.And finally,students from ethnic minority regions should be encouraged to participate in theme practice activities,such as club activities,summer vacation practice and volunteer work through which they can not only develop their ability but also play important roles in ecological environment education.
