Abstract:In this article, by using the lower and upper solution method, we prove the existence of iterative solutions for a class of fractional initial value problem with non-monotone termD-0+(alpha)(t) = f(t, u(t)), t is an element of (0, h), t(1-alpha)u(t)vertical bar(t=0) = u(0) not equal 0,where 0 < h < + infinity, f is an element of C ([0; h] x R; R), D-0+(alpha) u(t) is the standard Riemann-Liouville fractional derivative, 0 < alpha < 1. A new condition on the nonlinear term is given to guarantee the equivalence between the solution of the IVP and the fixed-point of the corresponding operator. Moreover, Moreover, we show the existence of maximal and minimal solutions.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate a boundary value problem of fractional differential equation. The nonlinear term includes fractional derivatives and is singular with respect to space variables. By means of Schaefer's fixed point theorem and Vitali convergence theorem, an existence result of monotone solutions is obtained. The proofs are based on regularization and sequential techniques. An example is also given to illustrate our main result.

Abstract:In this paper, we study a nonlinear Riemann-Liouville fractional a q-difference system with multi-strip and multi-point mixed boundary conditions under the Caputo fractional q-derivative, where the nonlinear terms contain two coupled unknown functions and their fractional derivatives. Using the fixed point theorem for mixed monotone operators, we constructe iteration functions for arbitrary initial value and acquire the existence and uniqueness of extremal solutions. Moreover, a related example is given to illustrate our research results.

Abstract:In this paper, we discuss the existence and monotone iterative method of nonnegative solutions for fractional functional differential equations. The main conclusion is that the nonnegative solutions can be derived from the monotone iterative method, which starts off with a nonnegative upper solution or the zero function under different conditions. Our approach of obtaining nonnegative solutions is feasible for computational purposes.

Abstract:This paper deals with fractional integro-differential equations involving Hadamard fractional derivatives and nonlinear boundary conditions in an ordered Banach space.The nonlinearity is allowed to be singular with respect to time variable.Under some monotonicity conditions and noncompactness measure conditions, we use the method of coupled lower and upper L-quasisolutions associated with the mixed monotone iterative technique to investigate the existence of extremal L-quasisolutions.A unique solution between coupled lower and upper L-quasisolutions is also obtained.An example is given to illustrate our theoretical results.The results got in this paper are new and enrich the existing related work.

Abstract:The semigroup properties of the Riemann-Liouville fractional integral have played a key role in dealing with the existence of solutions to differential equations of fractional order. Based on some results of some experts', we know that the Riemann-Liouville variable order fractional integral does not have semigroup property, thus the transform between the variable order fractional integral and derivative is not clear. These judgments bring us extreme difficulties in considering the existence of solutions of variable order fractional differential equations. In this work, we will introduce the concept of approximate solution to an initial value problem for differential equations of variable order involving the derivative argument on half-axis. Then, by our discussion and analysis, we investigate the unique existence of approximate solution to this initial value problem for differential equation of variable order involving the derivative argument on half-axis. Finally, we give examples to illustrate our results.

Abstract: In this paper, we discuss initial-boundary value problems for linear diffusion equation with multiple time-fractional derivatives. By means of the Mittag-Leffler function and the eigenfunction expansion, we reduce the problem to an integral equation for a solution, and we apply the fixed-point theorem to prove the unique existence and the H\"older regularity of solution. For the case of the homogeneous equation, the solution can be analytically extended to a sector $\{z\in\mathbb{C};z\neq0,|\arg z|<\frac{\pi}{2}\}$. In the case where all the coefficients of the time-fractional derivatives are positive constants, by the Laplace transform and the analyticity, we can prove that if a function satisfies the fractional diffusion equation and the homogeneous Neumann boundary condition on arbitrary subboundary as well as the homogeneous Dirichlet boundary condition on the whole boundary, then it vanishes identically.
A Monotone Discretization for the Fractional Obstacle Problem

Abstract:We introduce a novel monotone discretization method for addressing obstacle problems involving the integral fractional Laplacian with homogeneous Dirichlet boundary conditions over bounded Lipschitz domains. This problem is prevalent in mathematical finance, particle systems, and elastic theory. By leveraging insights from the successful monotone discretization of the fractional Laplacian, we establish uniform boundedness, solution existence, and uniqueness for the numerical solutions of the fractional obstacle problem. We employ a policy iteration approach for efficient solution of discrete nonlinear problems and prove its finite convergence. Our improved policy iteration, adapted to solution regularity, demonstrates superior performance by modifying discretization across different regions. Numerical examples underscore the method's efficacy.

Abstract:In this work, we introduce and study two problems for diffusion equations with the distributed order fractional derivatives including the initial value problem and the terminal value problem. For the initial value problem, we establish some existence results and Hölder regularity for the mild solution. On the other hand, we also show the existence results and a decay estimate of the mild solution for the terminal value problems. Especially, the polynomial decay of the solutions to the terminal value problems is firstly included when the source function is equal to zero.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate an initial value problem for a nonlinear fractional differential equation on an infinite interval. The differential operator is taken in the Hadamard sense and the nonlinear term involves two lower-order fractional derivatives of the unknown function. In order to establish the global existence criteria, we first verify that there exists a unique positive solution to an integral equation based on a class of new integral inequality. Next, we construct a locally convex space, which is metrizable and complete. On this space, applying Schäuder's fixed point theorem, we obtain the existence of at least one solution to the initial value problem.
