Abstract:Objective To investigate the expression of growth hormone receptor(GHR)in human gastrioenterological cancer.Methods The GHR was detected in samples of the human gastrioenterological cancer and the distal normal tissues (57 cases in human gastric cancer,45 case in human colonic cancer and 43 cases in human rectal cancer)by immunohisto-chemistry technique.According to the differentiation level of the tumor tissue,all the cases were divided into 3 groups,which were the well-differentiated group,the moderately differentiated group,and the poorly differentiated group respectively.Results The GHR positive expression rate was 80.7% in the human gastric cancer tissues and 70.2% in the distal normal tissues.There was no statistic difference between the human gastric cancer tissues and the distal normal tissues(P >0.05).There was also no statistic difference among the gastric cancer tissues of different differentiation(P > 0.05).In colonic cancer,GHR was both expressed in colonic cancer tissue and normal tissue,but it was higher in colonic cancer tissue than normal tissue(P<0.05).The expression lever of GHR was lower in the poorly differentiated group than the well-differentiated group or the moderately differentiated group.In rectal cancer,the expression level of GHR was positive in the cases.The expression level of GHR in the tumor tissue of the poorly differentiated group was higher than the well-differentiated group(P<0.05)or the moderately differentiated group(P<0.05).The expression level of GHR in the normal rectal tissue of the well-differentiated group was lower than the poorly differentiated group(P<0.05)or the moderately differentiated group(P<0.05).There was no statistical difference of the GHR expression level between the tumor tissue and the rectal mucosa of the broken ends(P > 0.05).Conclusion There is no difference of the GHR expression level between the tumor tissue and the normal gastric or rectal mucosa of the broken ends,and there is no difference among the gastric cancer tissues of different differentiation yet. The GHR expression level is higher in colonic cancer tissue than in normal colonic tissue.With the decreasing of tumor tissue differentiation,the expression level of GHR has the tendcy to increase in rectal cancer.
