Abstract:: The construction of first-class specialty is the guarantee of training first-class talents and the foundation of strengthening first-class undergraduate education. Taking the construction of chemistry major at Hangzhou Normal University as an example, aiming at the special needs of middle school education and college entrance examination enrollment in Zhejiang Province, we should not only see the achievements in the specialty construction, but also face the deficiencies. Through the in-depth analysis of the existing problems, this paper discusses the related problems of the construction of the first-class chemistry specialty from the aspects of the quality assurance system of personnel training, the talent training mode of “determining teaching by learning and promoting learning by research”, curriculum, teaching staff and discipline platform. In addition, measures and ideas, implementation plan and construction effect are proposed.
