Abstract:Some polynuclear or mononuclear metallic complexes have been found to display magnet-like behavior.The magnetic properties are originated from the single molecule due to the absence of intermolecular magnetic interaction.These complexes have caused great attention of chemists,physicists and material scientists.This review collects some great developments in this area,presents the basic theory for the single-molecule magnets and outlines the future research aims.
