From Eligibility to Excellence:Higher Education Quality in the Strategy of Building a Higher Educational Power

Abstract:The quality of higher education of China has been the nature of "outward-adaptability" since 1949,which sets its standard by the demands from outside of the higher educational system for "output of qualified products". The higher education develops in quantity instead of in quality. In the strategy of building a higher educational power,the development of higher education should turn its way from "quantity" to "quality" ,while excellence should be the quality orientation. The fundamental change of the higher educational system is the only way towards excellence.
