Abstract:The experiment was designed to study the effects of vitamin D3 on growth performance and immune function in five-week-old ducks. 150 ducks were randomly divided into 5 groups,6 replicates each group 5 ducks each replicate. Vitamin D3 supplement amount was 0,400,1500,3 000,5000 IU/kg. The results showed as follows: There were significant differences in average daily gain (ADG) and feed conversion ratio (FCR) among the treatments (P0.05);With the increasing levels of vitamin D3 in the diet,Ca,P,TP and ALB had significant differences (P0.05), GLOB had no obvious difference (P0.05),while it was tending to upward; The concentration of T4 decreased and T3/T4 increased (P0.05);Spleen index and bursa of fabricius index were not significantly affected (P0.05),however ducks fed vitamin D3 showed increasing tendency;Vitamin D3 had obvious effects on bone weight indexes (P0.05) and 3000 IU/kg was the highest compare to other groups. It was concluded that the optimal vitamin D3 supplement amount of young laying ducks were from 1500 IU/kg to 3000 IU/kg under cage condition.
