Abstract:Objective:To observe therapeutic effect of method for dissipating phlegm and removing blood stasis on alcoholic cirrhosis,especially on abating intractable ascites.Methods:112 patients were randomly divided into control group and therapeutic group.Two groups got conventional medicines of protecting liver.The therapy group was treated by method for dissipating phlegm and removing blood stasis at the same time.Then their improved conditions of liver function, syndrome and signs,as well as decrease of ascites and width of portal vein were compared.Results:All aspects above in therapy group wiere improved better than those in control group except width of portal vein(P0.01,P0.05).Conclusions: The method for dissipating phlegm and removing blood stasis has evident effect on alcoholic cirrhosis.

Abstract:Liver transplantation makes it possible to cure portal hypertension thoroughly.A new pattern of combined application of multiple treatments based on liver transplantation has emerged.Conventional surgical treatments such as splenectomy,devascularization and transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunting have important effects on the prognosis of liver transplant recipients.Portal vein stenosis,thrombosis as well as small-for-size liver graft lead to post-transplant portal hypertension and liver dysfunction.The author in this article provides an overview of the effects of various conventional treatments on the prognosis of recipients and the treatment of portal hypertension after liver transplantation,aiming to seek for optimal strategy.

Abstract:Objective To explore the characteristics of injured lung function in different stages and degrees of ulcerative colitis(UC),and guide clinical practice based on TCM theory.Methods The patients without diseases of respiratory system accorded with UC diagnosis were selected from outpatient department and wards of third-grade class-A hospitals in Beijing,Shanghai,Henan and Jiangsu from Sept.2009 to March,2011.The general material,symptoms,tongue and pulse manifestations and relevant risk factors of UC were investigated and at the same time,blood test and the examinations of lung function,chest X-ray,colonoscopy and histopathology were given to the patients.Results The symptom survey in this study included 261 patients.Of UC patients,there were 58.6% with chest symptoms,39.9% with short breath,28.4% with cough.The lung function survey in this stndy included 199 patients.Of 199 patients,there were 63.3% with the changes of lung function,and among which,53.3% in active stage and 53.8% with mild or moderate impairment of lung function.The types of the impairment were mainly airflow limitation(54.8%) and diffusing capacity decrease(51.6%).Conclusion The most of patients will have chest symptoms,abnormal lung function and obvious short breath and cough.The impairments of lung function manifest as airflow limitation,decrease of diffusing capacity and increase of RV/TLC%,which commonly are related to activity and severity of UC.The changes of lung function are specific in active stage and in patients with mild or moderate impairment of lung function.

Abstract:Objective To observe the curative effect of the therapy of resolving toxin and dredging collaterals on decompensated cirrhosis and investigate the mechanism. Method The patients with decompensated cirrhosis accorded with Western diagnostic standard of cirrhosis and TCM syndrome of internal accumulating of damp-heat and blood stasis obstructing collaterals were chosen as the observation objects and divided randomly into the treatment group and control group (each n=30). The control group was treated with Western medicine and the treatment group, with Ruangansuopi Decoction (made up according to the therapy of resolving toxin and dredging collaterals) besides Western therapy. One treatment course was for 4 weeks. The changes of TCM syndrome integrals, liver function, prothrombin activity and 4 indexes of liver fibrosis were observed. Result In the treatment group TCM syndrome integrals, Child grade of liver function and 4 indexes of liver fibrosis were improved than before the treatment, which was significantlg different to those in the control group (P0.05). Conclusion The therapy of resolving toxin and dredging collaterals has a better curative effect on decompensated cirrhosis in TCM syndromes, Child grade of liver function and liver fibrosis than the control therapy. The mechanism may be related to that it can protect the liver cells, inhibit liver inflammatory reaction, resist liver fibrosis and induce the portal venous pressure.

Abstract:Objective To Observe dynamically the level of CD_4~+ CD_(25)~+ Tregs in the peripheral blood in patients with liver failure receiving artificial liver support system and/or medical treatment and investigate the relationship between the level of CD_4~+ CD_(25)~+ Tregs and curative effect and prognosis.Methods Sixty-three patients with liver failure were divided into 2 groups according to the treatment protocol:medical treatment combined with artificial liver support system(combined group)(29 cases)and medical treatment only group (medical group)(34 cases).According to indicators such as liver function and clinical symptoms etc,there were 17 effective cases and 12 ineffective cases in the combined group while 11 effective cases and 23 ineffective cases in the medical group.23 healthy donors were used as normal control group.The level of CD_4~+ CD_(25)~+ Treg in the peripheral blood was measured by flow cytometry dynamically and the relationship between the level of CD_4~+ CD_(25)~+ Treg and curative effect was analyzed accordingly.Results The Treg level was(2.46±0.56)% in the normal control group.For those effective groups,the Treg level before treatment was lower compared to normal control group,it was(1.92±0.78)% and(2.10±0.56)% in combined group and medical group respectively.There was no significant difference between these two groups (P0.05)although it was statistically significant when both compared to the normal control group(P 0.05);After treatment,the Treg level in the effective groups was(2.62±0.67)%(combined group)and (2.89±0.72)%(medical group)respectively.There was significant difference between these two groups (P0.05)while no statistical significant was found when compared to the normal control group(P 0.05);Both effective groups showed significant difference before and after the treatment(P0.05);As to the ineffective groups,the Treg level was higher before treatment compared to the normal control.It was (4.64±1.31)%(combined group)and(4.87±2.86)%(medical group)respectively.There was no significant difference between these two groups(P0.05)while it was statistical significant when compared to the normal control group(P0.05);After treatment the Treg level in the ineffective groups was(5.44± 2.13)%(combined group)and(5.91±2.78)%(medical group)respectively.There was no significant difference between these two groups(P0.05)although it was statistically significant compared to the normal control group(P0.05).There was significant difference before and after the treatment in both ineffective groups(P0.05).The change of Treg level appeared to show low-high-low peaked curve in the effective groups and it recovered to the normal level soon in the combined group compared to the medical treatment group.In the ineffective treatment groups,the change of Treg level appeared to be high-low-high notched curve.Conclusion The level of CD_4~+ CD_(25)~+ Treg was correlated with the curative effect and it may be used as a potential indicator for curative effect and prognosis in patients with liver failure.
Preliminary Survival Observation on Purcutaneous Portal Vein Chronomodulated Chemotherapy on Treatment of Liver Cancer.

Abstract:To explore the new therapeutics on patients with unable surgical excisional advanced liver cancer, so elongating the survival. After TACE treatment, 21 patients with advanced liver cancer were treated by means of the portal vein chrono-modulated chemotherapy by which DDP and 5 - Fu was infused into the portal vein through the catheter had inserted in it. Treatment group: the 1 year survival is 41. 69% , the 2 year survival is 27. 79% , the medial survival is 12. 40 months. Compared with the controlled group, the survival is more longer significantly. It is demonstrated that portal vein chronomod-ulated chemotherapy combined with TACE on treatment of liver cancer is an effective therapy, It is worth to explore and study more.

Abstract:Lao tzu (philosopher in the Spring and Autumn Period, founder of Taoism) once wrote in his masterpiece Tao Te Ching "All Creatures should bear with Yin and take in Yang, tenderly equilibrize them with Qi, and peace will befallen". The philosophy of Yin and Yang is the fundamentals that our Chinese ancestors utilized to reach an understanding of a stable state in all creatures great and small, perceptible and unseen. Prof. Liu Luming has concluded the TCM therapeutic principle "nourishing yin and tonifying spleen" from experience of treatment for advanced HCC, with the introduction of the theory of Yin and Yang into the therapy and the enrichment of its connotation, thus promoting the efficacy of treatment via TCM medicine for advanced HCC.
Relationship between Injured Lung Function and Endoscopic Index in Ulcerative Colitis Patients

Abstract:This study was aimed to find the relationship between lung function injured characteristic of ulcerative colitis (UC) and endoscopic index. It will verify and enrich Chinese medicine theory to guide clinical diagnosis and treatment. UC patients without respiratory system diseases were selected between September 2009 and March 2011 from several triple-A hospitals in China. Furthermore, disease history, lung function, colonoscopy and histopathology were taken. The results showed that among 171 enrolled cases, there were statistical differences in endoscopic index of residual-function and diffusion-function between the abnormal group and the normal group (P< 0.05). The resid-ual-function group was r = 0.003. There were no statistical differences in ventilatory-function and small-airway-function in the abnormal group. It was concluded that there were different types of injured lung function in UC. A-mong them, the abnormalities of residual-function and diffusion-function had strong correlation with the intestinal damage degree. The change on residual-function was more obvious.

Abstract:Accurate modeling and estimation of 3D power network electrical performance are vitally important to aid the 3D integration and packaging design. In order to achieve high accuracy, we combine the electromagnetic (EM) and analytic simulations in this work to evaluate the electrical performance of a 3D power network, which consists of Cu through-strata-vias (TSVs), solders, micro-solders, and on-chip power grids. We intentionally partition the real stack-up structure of 3D power network into separated components, electromagnetically extract all the passive elements (resistance, inductance, conductance, and capacitance, i.e., RLGC) for each component at certain frequency points of interest. We then assemble all the components again into a corresponding SPICE model of 3D power network and import EM-extracted RLGC values to analyze the overall 3D system power performance. The number of stacked ICs, floorplanning of TSV/micro-solders, operating frequency of 3D system, and characteristics of decoupling capacitance are examined to unveil several 3D power delivery design implications.

Abstract:Ulcerative colitis (UC) is a worldwide refractory bowel disease with unclear pathogenesis. Its lesions can lead to colorectal cancer over time. UC is classified as “diarrhea,” “dysentery,” and other categories in traditional Chinese medicine. Its etiology and pathogenesis in traditional Chinese medicine are complex, but it has been found that blood stasis plays an important role in its occurrence and development. Combined with modern research, the relationship between blood stasis and ulcerative colitis is analyzed in this article along with a discussion on the therapeutic effect of activating blood and removing blood stasis on the disease, aiming to provide new ideas for the treatment of UC.

Abstract:Objective To explore the changes of nitric oxide (NO) and superoxide dismutase(SOD) in the serum and intestine mucosal and the treatment of ulcerative colitis(UC) with Tanshinone.Methods Seventy-nine patients with UC were randomly divided into the treatment group(group A,n=40) and the routine treatment group(group B,n=39).Patients in the group A were given Tanshionon and routine treatment.Patients in group B were given routine treatment.The levels of NO and SOD were measured in all patients before and after the treatment.The clinical symptom,enteroscopy,and hospital day were compared in the patients of the two groups.Twenty normal healthy controls(group C) were involved in the study.Results The NO level in the serum and intestine mucosal was significantly increased and the SOD level was significantly decreased in the patients with UC compared with those of the controls(all P0.01).The levels of NO and SOD in the serum and intestine mucosal were recovered after the treatment in the patients of group A and were significantly different from those of group B(P0.01).The clinical symptom,enteroscopy,and hospital day in patients of group A were superior to those of group B(P0.01).Conclusion The abnormal levels of NO and SOD in the serum and intestine mucosal may play an important role in the development of UC.Tanshinone is effective in the treatment of UC by the antagonism of NO and SOD.

Abstract:The treatment of ulcerative colitis in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has always been guided by syndrome differentiation of internal medicine. The disease mechanism,clinical symptoms,endoscopic fea-tures,severity and prognosis of ulcerative colitis are similar to "subcutaneous ulcer" in TCM. Based on the treatment experience of TCM surgery on subcutaneous ulcer ,ulcerative colitis was treated based on syndrome differentiation of yin,yang,qi and blood as well as localized syndrome differentiation. This disease is divided into active and remission stages. In active stage ,Baitouweng decoction was applied while in the remission stag,Tuoli Xiaodu powder was applied. Besides,acupuncture and retention enema with Chinese herbal medicine were also applied. Clinically,such treatments could ensure satisfactory effect.

Abstract:Objective:To observe the clinical effects of removing both phlegm and blood stasis therapy in treating connective tissue disease related interstitial lung disease (CTD-ILD);Methods:A total of 52 patients with CTD-ILD were randomly divided into treatment group and control group,with 26 cases in each group.The control group received glucocorticoid and immunosuppressive therapy,and the treatment group was added treatment with drugs of removing both phlegm and blood stasis on the basis of the above treatment for 3 months.The effective rate,he 6-minute walk distance,the arterial partial pressure of oxygen (PaO2),forced vital capacity (FVC),total lung capacity (TLC),and diffusion capacity for carbon monoxide of lung (DLCO) of two groups were evaluated.Results:After treatment,the effective rates in treatment group and control group were 88.46％ and 64.0％ respectively,and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant (P ＜ 0.05);After the treatment,the 6-minute walk distance,PaO2,FVC,TLC and DLCO were significantly improved than that before treatment (P ＜ 0.05),while the improvement of these indicators in the treatment group was significantly better than those of control group (P ＜ 0.05).The number of patients with adverse reactions in the control group was significantly larger than that in the treatment group (P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion:Removing both phlegm and blood stasis therapy has better clinical efficacy in treatment of CTD-ILD,which can significantly improve thepulmonary function of patients,as well as reduce the glucocorticoid and immunosuppressive drug toxicity,so it can be further applied and promoted in clinical practice.
