Abstract:The difficulty in infrared and radar fusion target detection lies in the pre-processing steps such as sample reduction and feature reduction of heterogeneous sensors. For the problem of data volume redundancy, HVS sample reduction is proposed to reduce the amount of data in the infrared data set. Infrared and radar joint feature vectors are constructed through nearest neighbor data association. For the problem of feature redundancy, a weighted mutual information feature selection method based on prior information is proposed according to the difference of feature sources. The fusion data set is then used for classification. The experiments show that the HVS-based sample reduction and the prior weighted feature selection achieved a higher detection probability and a shorter detection time, and improved the robustness in the case of large differences between the training set and the test set.

Abstract:Multiband synthetic aperture radar (SAR) image fusion combines the scattering characteristics of targets from different bands to provide a comprehensive and informative output. However, the conventional SAR denoise and fusion separation framework often encounters the loss of fine details. This problem arises due to the inherent conflict between noise filtering and edge preservation. To address this issue, this article proposes the joint tensor-based low-rank total variation (TLRTV) dual-band SAR image denoise-fusion strategy. The proposed strategy formulates the denoise-fusion problem by integrating the LR and TV models. Furthermore, this problem is extended to a high-dimensional form using tensor representation. To effectively solve the TLRTV problem, an optimization method is developed based on the alternating direction method of multipliers. This method decomposes the TLRTV problem into a series of subproblems, allowing for an efficient and accurate solution. To evaluate the performance of the proposed TLRTV method, the real measurement dual-band SAR images obtained from our developed airborne multiband SAR system are utilized to compare with other existing denoise and fusion separation methods. The extensive experimental results demonstrate the superiority of the TLRTV approach achieving better fusion results, particularly in the presence of noise interference.

Abstract:The information platform composed of multi-radar can receive various groups of target data at the same time,and data fusion has become an inevitable technique for this platform to process data. Data fusion can improve the data rate of the target and the target measurement accuracy, meanwhile, it provides convenience for the integrated management and control of the whole platform. Serial data fusion algorithm is similar to the single radar target tracking process,and is easy to expand to the multi-radar platform. Serial data fusion algorithm is utilized to verify the performance of data fusion under the typical conditions of multi radar,and this typical condition is the environment which is composed by the multiple ship-born search radar. The simulation results show that the fusion algorithm can improve the tracking accuracy and increase the target detection range.

Abstract:The limited bandwidth of a single source normally restricts the imaging resolution for the subsurface target. Multi-frequency acquisition is a promising way to enhance the resolution with reasonable data fusion. An Ormsby wavelet based theoretical study confirms the significance of both the low and high frequencies for improving the resolution by means of peak duration and side-lobe oscillation level. To avoid over-boosting the noise during the data fusion, we propose a joint deconvolution approach to associate the single-frequency data with the target function directly. A weighted matched filter is accordingly derived based on the signal-to-noise ratio of the multi-frequency data. Error analysis shows that the joint weighted deconvolution based data fusion achieves better noise control compared to the direct-summation based deconvolution. Both wedge model based synthetic result and ground penetrating radar acquired field data example confirm the effectiveness of the proposed data fusion approach on resolution enhancement.

Abstract:Data fusion is one of the key problems and techniques for multi-pattern composite guidance seeker. On the ground of analyzing requirement of weapon system to data fusion system of the infrared/passive radar composite guidance seeker, the general flow of data fusion was designed; interference judgement methods of the single and multiple sensors were proposed based on differences between prediction and observation, prediction and prediction; the data fusion strategy was designed at different phases in attacking process of the missile. Effectivenesses of interference judgement and fusion strategy were verified by measured data in a real experiment.

Abstract:To improve the reliability and anti-jamming ability of the radar countermeasure reconnaissance system in the complex electromagnetic environment, we propose a multi-sensor data fusion algorithm for parameter estimation. Firstly, we eliminate abnormal data based on the quartile distribution plot method and obtain the mean and variance by batch estimation. Secondly, the consistency test is used to remove the sensor data with low support. After that, the inherent accuracy weights are determined based on the systematic errors of the sensors, the reliability weights are calculated by the adaptive fusion, and finally, the fusion results are obtained by weighting the batch estimation values with the combined weights of the two. Simulation experiments show that the proposed algorithm achieves excellent fusion adaptability, possesses better accuracy than the existing algorithms, and effectively improves the performance of multi-sensor radiation emitter identification.

Abstract:The aim is to study the radar target tracking system for multi-sensor data fusion. Multi-sensor data fusion is important for achieving information complementarity, improving target tracking accuracy and recognition capabilities, and enhancing the system's anti-jamming. Aiming at the architecture of radar and infrared tracking, an information fusion algorithm based on radar and infrared sensor optimal data compression is proposed for single target tracking. Then, the algorithm of track correlation and track fusion in multi-target tracking is simulated and analyzed. The results show that the optimized algorithm improves the correct correlation rate of the track. The multi-sensor target fusion tracking can avoid the limitations of a single sensor, and improve the accuracy of target tracking. Therefore, it can be concluded that the designed radar infrared netted data fusion system has excellent anti-jamming performance. It greatly improves the target tracking accuracy.

Abstract:Fusion detection for multi-static radar signal is an effective technique to improve the sea-surveillance ability.Aiming to the problem of fusion detection by multi-resolution radars,the relation between the over-sampled echoes of LRR( Low Range Resolution) radar and the critical samples of higher resolution signal is derived,and a super-resolution algorithm is presented to reconstruct the high- er resolution signal from the over-sampled echoes.Based on that,the multi-resolution echoes can be transformed into corresponding ones which hold the same resolution,and avoid the deterioration of fusion detection performance caused by the dismatching of range resolu- tion.The numerical results show that the algorithm is effective.

Abstract:With the development of science and technology, the electronic warfare environment is becoming increasingly complicated, making the traditional combat platform relying on a single radar no longer meet the needs of air defense in modern battlefield. In order to solve this problem, this paper proposes a cooperative detection technology of networked radar based on data fusion. Through multi-radar cooperative combat and multi-source radar data fusion, the resource sharing and functional complementarity between the radars in the network are realized, and the overall combat effectiveness of radar system is effectively improved. Simulation results show that the cooperative detection technology of networked radar based on data fusion can not only expand the space-time coverage of radar monitoring, but also improve the detection and tracking performance of radar system, so it is of great significance in improving the overall combat effectiveness.

Abstract:Multi-modal fusion is imperative to the implementation of reliable autonomous driving. In this paper, we make full use of both mmWave radar and camera data to reconstruct reliable depth and full-velocity information. To overcome the sparsity of radar points, we leverage full-velocity based egomotion compensation to achieve more accurate multi-sweep accumulation. Besides, we incorporate an adaptive two-stage attention module within the fusion network to exploit the synergy of camera and radar information. Furthermore, we conduct extensive experiments on the prevailing nuScenes dataset. The results show our proposed fusion system consistently outperforms the state-of-the-art methods.

Abstract:To improve detection characteristic of radar and infrared sensors,combined with detection theory of sensors,radar and infrared detection-level fusion was studied in order to improve detection perfomance for objects.On the base of N-P rule research,radar and infrared signal detection-level agriculture,fusion rule and fusion algorithm,etc.were studied.The detection performance curvesof radar,infrared and fusion system,and the relationship of correlation coeffient and receiver's SNR with detection performance were provided through simulation validation.The results of simulation show that detection performance of fusion system is better than radar and infrared sensors.

Abstract:For multi-sensor data with multi-source heterogeneity, data pre-processing is required for data fusion. This paper proposes a data pre-processing method, firstly, the image data is binarized using the designed image binarization algorithm and flame area extraction algorithm, and the flame area information in the fire image is extracted into one-dimensional data, then the five one-dimensional data of ambient temperature, temperature-sensitive cable, CO2, CO and flame area are noise reduced using the designed wavelet noise reduction algorithm, and finally the final pre-processed data is calculated by the selected normalization formula. The results of the study show that the method can improve the effectiveness of multi-sensor data fusion.

Abstract:The data fusion of radar and automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast(ADS-B)is the effective me-thod to surveille the'black flights'and flying birds.However,the tracking performance of the two sensors has large differences and is easy to be fluctuated,which will bring a decline in fusion accuracy.A data fusion method of radar and ADS-B based on track quality assessment is proposed.Firstly,the effects of local track accuracy,data update times and sensor measurement errors on local track quality on corresponding assessment factors are analyzed and quantified.And then,these assessment factors are combined to calculate the quality weighting factors of the local track,and the asynchronous track fusion processing of radar and ADS-B is completed based on the distributed fu-sion structure.Finally,the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method is verified with simulation experi-ment and application.The results show that the proposed fusion method can effectively improve the fusion accura-cy,and the tracking errors are better than the traditional algorithms when the sensor tracking performance fluc-tuates.

Abstract:In the processing of radar data, target estimation states fusion is an important problem. Especially under the decentralized model, various estimations of target state which come from local filters with Kalman filter may be fused in order to obtain a more accurate target estimation state. There are two problems to be solved. The first is the fusion criterion, different fusion criteria bring out different results. Three fusion criteria are discussed; one is based on the covariance matrix of estimation error, the second is dependent on the infinite normal number, and the last is related to the element of the state vector. The second problem is the tracking algorithm; it affects the accuracy of the state fusion result. The three criteria and their corresponding algorithms are presented. The algorithms estimating target state are set up with a strong tracking filter other than Kalman or extended Kalman filter; they have better tracking performance so that they can overcome the deficiencies related to Kalman or extended Kalman filters. The reason for this is explained. Comparison results are given.

Abstract:In this article, an efficient radar fusion-before-imaging (RFBI) method for heterogeneous borehole radar systems is proposed. Different from conventional fusion-after-imaging processes, the sample sets collected from heterogeneous borehole radar systems (monostatic, bistatic, or multiple-input multiple-output) are first merged into one data set before the imaging process in RFBI, and a single imaging operation is demanded to obtain the target space image with high precision. Specifically, the diversity in heterogeneous borehole radar sample sets is taken into consideration, and the radar sample sets are inserted and fused into a high-dimensional sample set before imaging. The target space spectrum is generated according to the echo space–frequency constraint relationship, and the target space is extracted from one imaging process. The influence of clutters in RFBI results is reduced, and the imaging accuracy is satisfactory. Meanwhile, due to the fusion process ahead, the computational time of RFBI hardly increases with the number of radar sample sets. The synthetic and field experiment results show that RFBI demonstrates comparable accuracy as Kirchhoff migration and higher efficiency in processing large amounts of data sets at the cost of large memory requirement, which is suitable for the joint imaging of heterogeneous radar systems.

Abstract:Radar cross section (RCS) is an important attribute of radar targets and has been widely used in automatic target recognition (ATR). In a passive radar, only the RCS multiplied by a coefficient is available due to the unknown transmitting parameters. For different transmitter-receiver (bistatic) pairs, the coefficients are different. Thus, the recovered RCS in different transmitter-receiver (bistatic) pairs cannot be fused for further use. In this paper, we propose a quantity named quasi-echo-power (QEP) as well as a method for eliminating differences of this quantity among different transmitter-receiver (bistatic) pairs. The QEP is defined as the target echo power after being compensated for distance and pattern propagation factor. The proposed method estimates the station difference coefficients (SDCs) of transmitter-receiver (bistatic) pairs relative to the reference transmitter-receiver (bistatic) pair first. Then, it compensates the QEP and gets the compensated QEP. The compensated QEP possesses a linear relationship with the target RCS. Statistical analyses on the simulated and real-life QEP data show that the proposed method can effectively estimate the SDC between different stations, and the compensated QEP from different receiving stations has the same distribution characteristics for the same target.

Abstract:Heterogeneous multi-sensor’s fusion tracking can detect precise distance and angle to the target. For heterogeneous multi-sensor issues, radar, infrared sensor and laser sensor’s data fusion, and target tracking are studied, weighted fusion algorithm based on Lagrange and unscented kalman filter are adopted, which make date fusion and tracking filtering for target. Simulation results show that the radar / infrared / laser sensors can realize data fusion and tracking to the target, and the accuracy is significantly higher than radar and infrared/laser, and then tracking effect is better.

Abstract:The achievement of multi-sensor data fusion is based on the same target, so under the multi-target environment, the characteristics of multi-target need to be distinguished in a certain way, particularly in heterogeneous sensors data fusion. Fortunately, track association provides a method to solve this problem. In this paper, based on the airborne radar and IR sensor, a track association algorithm for heterogeneous sensor is proposed. At first, the discriminant function for track association is given through the research of fuzzy comprehensive theory. Then, the decision criterion, which includes azimuth and elevation, is used to track association. Finally, the simulation results show the effectiveness and practicality of this algorithm.
