The Spillover Effect of Foreign R&D on China’s Innovation Capacity:an Empirical Analysis based on Regional Aspect

Abstract:Different from the present literature which mainly examined the foreign R&D spillover effects of technological progress,the paper,based on the panel data of east,central and west areas of China from 1990 to 2008,empirically studies the spillover effect of foreign R&D on China’s innovation capacity.The result shows that international trade obviously enhances the innovation capacity in east and central areas,while the FDI spillover effect in western part is more significant.Based on the results of empirical research,this paper proposes some suggestions to better absorb and utilize of foreign R&D spillover effects to promote regional innovation capacity.
