Abstract:In this paper, an asymptotic method for nonlinear singular singu-larly perturbed boundary value problems with discontinuous right-hand side is investigated. We not only show existence of a solution with a step-like con-trast structure, but also construct an asymptotic expansion of the solution. In addition, remainder estimation of the approximate solution is also given. Finally, an example is used to verify the correctness of the above theory.

Abstract:This paper investigates the nonexistence and uniqueness of positive solutions to a kind of two-point boundary value problem (BVP) for nonlinear fractional differential equations with p-Laplacian operator, and presents a number of new results. First, the considered BVP is converted to an operator equation by using the property of Caputo derivative. Second, based on the operator equation and some fixed point theorems, several sufficient conditions are presented for the nonexistence and the uniqueness of positive solutions. Finally, several illustrative examples are given to support the obtained new results. The study of illustrative examples shows that the obtained results are applicable.

Abstract:Under the premise that the exact solutions of nonlinear equations can not be obtained,the asymptotic theory in the singular perturbation theory and methods provides a powerful tool by constructing a uniformly valid asymptotic solution for solving such problems.The boundary layer function method is one of the most effective ways.The boundary layer function approach with numerical methods to construct a zero-order numerical asymptotic solution is combined,which establishes a basis for obtaining further the coefficients in the regular series and boundary layer series.

Abstract:This paper is concerned with the existence and uniqueness of a solution for a class of 2nth-order nonlinear multi-point boundary value problems. The existence of a solution is proven by the method of upper and lower solutions without any monotone condition on the nonlinear function. A sufficient condition for the uniqueness of a solution is given. It is also shown that there exist two sequences which converge monotonically from above and below, respectively, to the unique solution. Two examples are presented to illustrate the results.

Abstract:This paper studied a kind of BVP of nonlinear third order singularly perturbed equations by boundary layer function method. When gy′0, at first, the problem was turned to a BVP of an equivalent Tikhonov system. Then the asymptotic solution of doubly boundary layer for the system was constructed, and the character of exponential decay for all boundary functions was proved. Finally the main results of this paper: existence and uniqueness of solution and estimation of remainder for the problem were given. When gy′0, in general, there is no solution to this problem.

Abstract:Applying the method of upper and lower solutions, Leray-Schauder degree theory and one-sided Nagumo condition, we obtain the existence and uniqueness results for a class of nonlinear second-order four-point boundary value problems. By the generalized approximation method, a monotone iteration sequence which converges uniformly to the unique solution of the nonlinear problem and converges quadratically to the unique solution of the linear problem is also obtained.

Abstract:A two point boundary value problem for a singularly perturbed system with double root of the degenerate equation is studied. This is a new class of problem in the case when the nonlinear term at the right end of the system is discontinuous on the straight line, which leads to the formation of complex multizonal internal layers that can be divided into eight regions in the neighborhood of the discontinuous straight line. In this paper, not only the modified boundary layer function method is used to obtain a smooth solution, but also the matching method is used to prove the existence of the solution to the problem. And its remainder estimation is given.
